About Ricky Gervais on Tour
For Ricky Gervais, comedy means the freedom to say everything he's not supposed to. Following his worldwide hit Humanity, the British actor, writer and stand-up performer's first full-length live show SuperNature is another no-holds-barred showcase for one of the most fearless wits in contemporary comedy.
His sixth live tour, SuperNature displays the stage prowess Gervais first established when his show Rubbernecker became a hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2001. That same year, Gervais and his regular collaborator Stephen Merchant changed the course of comedy television with the BBC debut of The Office. A groundbreaking mockumentary about a dysfunctional workplace, the series yielded a rich variety of iconic characters, Gervais' most famous creation being general manager David Brent.
Though Gervais followed up the global success of The Office with more hilarious forays into television, radio, film and podcasting, stand-up has remained at the core of his performing career. The 2003 debut of his show Animals marked the beginning of a series of successful comedy tours in the UK and throughout the world. Humanity, recorded for a live special on Netflix, brought a triumphant return to touring in 2017 and 2018. SuperNature is set to debut on Netflix in later 2020.
Ricky Gervais Background
An influential figure in comedy, Ricky Gervais has delighted in pushing buttons and boundaries ever since he first gained wider attention with the 2001 debut of The Office. The series became a favorite of audiences worldwide for its sharp and funny portrayal of a workplace overseen by Gervais' most famous character: the self-obsessed and self-deluded manager David Brent.
Created and written by Gervais with partner Stephen Merchant, The Office led to a wide and wildly creative array of projects, shows and roles in TV, film, radio, podcasting and publishing. Gervais reunited with Merchant for several more TV series, including Extras and Life's Too Short. Gervais' big-screen credits include Muppets Most Wanted, For Your Consideration and the Night at the Museum franchise. Millions of viewers also got a taste of his savage wit during his many stints as host of the Golden Globes.
Ricky Gervais' stand-up career continued with sell-out tours for such shows as Animals and Fame. First performed in 2017 and later released as a live special on Netflix, Humanity established him as a preeminent performer in the comedy world.
One of the funniest men alive! Loved the show. The venue was awesome and had a great time !
Very creative and brilliant for all audiences. Just a genius at work!
Armageddon was a Consistently funny Gervais show as good as his Supernature special. Very deft navigation of edgy topics. The final sequence of Does the Dog Die jokes was particularly hilarious.
Every joke was funny 10/10. We didn’t stop laughing the whole time!
Witty, funny intelligent humor. Didn’t stop laughing the whole time!
The warm up comedian was very good and Ricky Gervais was pretty awesome. I love it!
The funniest man on the planet. Laughed myself to tears several times during the set.
One of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Finally got to see Ricky since Covid, had tickets for about 3 years
Rickey Gervais is my favourite comedian, so I took my son to New York to watch him live at Radio City Music Hall! It was an amazing show, we laughed the whole time, and the opening act Sean McLoughlin was also hilarious - he will go far! Ricky was fantastic, as always, and I would highly recommend anyone with a good sense of humour to go to his show! LOVED IT!
I love Ricky Gervais but unfortunately his act was unimaginative and stale. I was hoping for so much more.
Best comedy show ever. What more is there to say? Smart, funny, twisted…all in good fun, because if you can’t laugh, what’s the point of living?
Ricky Gervais at Radio City Music Hall- the only reason I’d travel from NM to NYC- excellent show in an excellent venue! Cringe funny and hilarious! Rock on, Mr Gervais!
I laughed so hard I cried and my face still hurt the next day. I found this much funnier that SuperNature, and this show really showcased his brilliance in being inappropriate, clever, and still so funny.
This was the first time seeing him live. He was very funny. He was on stage a little under 90 minutes.
A great storyteller with a fabulous acerbic sense of humor. Best date night ever.
We had a great time. He's so funny. I loved the opener, Sean, too.
I enjoyed the show. Ricky spoke about things which others are afraid of speaking about and his brutal honesty was refreshing. For a 1st timer listening to him perform, that was pure bliss. He had two standing ovations in the end of his performance. That speaks for itself.
What a great show. From the opening act to his last sentence, the show delivered. If you are a fan of Ricky's you know what you are getting...and he doesn't hold back. Stomach hurt from laughing and he always makes you think. Great time...almost got tickets for the show the next night!
Laughing out loud so many times, Ricky is the best! Travelled from Sweden to see him and it was worth every cent.
Great show and no stupid pouches for the phones like kevin hart does. One of the wittiest comedians on the planet. Loved the show & love the fact he doesn't bow down to the woke cancel culture mob.
