Very good rock and roll show. Good sound, I could have stayed there all night. Probably the best bargain for a show in Pittsburgh all summer. I hope Ace comes back soon.
Several tech items....something to do with a radio station coming in over the amps.. My take is that the "show" was awesome. Tech troubles are part of the game, but the performance and showmanship were off the charts. KWS is SUPER-talented!
The show was spectacular--as expected. Leon's band is so tight and play brilliantly. It appears that Leon is getting stronger and was more vibrant than the previous shows we have seen in the past 3 years. We hope he continues to play venues in the NE Ohio and Western PA areas.
It was an amazing evening! Such great talent at this festival event. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is so exciting to watch!
Disappointed is as positive as I can get for this show. Leon's band was SO LOUD that they drowned out the lyrics and the BASS was just simply overdone to the worse degree. Some redemption when Chris played solo and Leon also, but for the most part it was just overly loud and disappointing. One older woman in the crowd, way too old to be wearing the top half outfit she had on, was a poor distraction and annoyance through the whole show. Oh well, ribs were good.
A perfect venue for Leon Russell. A warm, receptive, casual crowd. Lots to eat and drink. And. . . . .he is the master!
Tickets and the web site said: "Ribs on the River 3 featuring Leon Russell Rain or Shine 1:00 PM". Great. We got there at 12:45 PM only to find out Leon Russell played at 8:10 PM. We went back home (35 miles) and came back for the show. Leon Russell was great---traveling the extra miles and wasting the time sucked.
Great show, great venue, wonderful weather! Leon Russell is still a strong performer...great musician,strong voice And very personable. His guitarist, Chris Simmons, did one of his own solos and was phenomenal! bought his solo CD and absolutely love it!
This was a great day. Two stages, good bands. The ribs were tasty, too. Leon Russell and his band were wonderful. If you get the chance, I'd recommend seeing Leon and Co.
