by ImAud on 2/25/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The Fox Theater was THE place to watch live music - having all those fabulous artist (SOOOOOOOO AMAZING HAVING TARRUS RILEY THIS YEAR!!!!!!!) at the Fox (instead of the Civic Center) was an awesome decision! Not a bad seat in the house!

    Raggamufin Raucus

by Camrock on 2/23/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Irie, irie! These old-school roots-style artists came through in a righteous fashion . . . one after the other . . . each one outdoing the last. Way to work the crowd and bring some postive vibrations to the Oak.

    Raggamuffins is a must see!

by AStarski on 2/23/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The show was great. The lineup was very good. I would have recommended putting Taurus Riley just before Gregory Isaacs and Barrington Levy. Taurus puts on one hell of a show. I saw him at SumFest in Montego Bay in 2009 and he brought nearly the same energy to Ragga Muffins in Oakland!

    Ragged Muffins

by Pezmo on 2/22/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Great lineup of talent., but the sound system was sub-.standard. I know & love the heavy bass line that accompanies good Reggae, but this was so muddled you could not hear the the vocals. Gregory Issacs was drowned out. On the last two sets by Barrington Levy & Cocoa Tea, they seemed to finally get a good mix & their performances were the most enjoyable of the night. Great crowd, fantastic setting !!

    disappointed

    by grayboy65 on 2/22/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The raggamuffins show was much better when it was in sf at the civic center. I found the sound to be terrible and the groups performing this year disappointing. it seemed like an oldies show. Where are some of the Marleys??

    The ENTIRE Concert was Unremarkable!

by NickiDub on 2/22/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The Fox Theater is a fabulous venue. Having local vendors on each floor was a nice touch as well. The staff at the Fox are great...which makes seeing a great concert there all the better. Biggups to my usher (never got his name)...but he was the best! EVERY artist on the ticket was awesome....the crowd's vibe made them perform at their best. I went mainly to see my boyfriend...Gregory Isaacs! His voice was as clear as a bell. He melted my heart with "Night Nurse"!!! Then Barrington came in and wore a sistah out!

    Too Loud

    by ShesRoyal707 on 2/22/10Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The show was awesome, but too loud, I was in the Mezz and you couldn't understand a word, if you didn't know the song you wouldn't what they were singing. But otherwise, I had a very good time.
