    Fabulous!

    by Vix1 on 5/24/13Birchmere - Alexandria

Have seen him many times with the Monkees but this was first time seeing him solo - it was a perfect mix of all of his talents and genres and the personal photos really added to the intimacy of the event. I've had a crush on Peter since I first saw the Monkees in concert at the Baltimore Civic Center in 1968 and I was totally captivated again 45 years later!

    Peter Tork at the Birchmere

    by 94sHippie on 5/23/13Birchmere - Alexandria

Peter Tork wonderfully combined story telling and music. He played without a backup band acoustically giving the show a coffee house and comfortable atmosphere. He had the audience help him with several songs and made jokes towards the audience when appropriate. Afterwards Peter Tork let people meet him and gave autographs. He was very approachable and nice.

    What a performance!

by Pepperhil on 5/23/13Birchmere - Alexandria

Peter Tork is an amazing showman! I have seen him with the Monkees, with his band Shoe Suede Blues, and now solo! I must say this is BY FAR the most fun performance I have ever seen! He had us laughing from the first moment, his stories were fantastic, and the audience was made part of the show in several sing alongs. Even if you have never seen this man live, nor been a Monkees fan, you will enjoy this and have to agree what an extremely talented man Peter Tork is!

apart from the food being WAY too overpriced, I enjoyed being at the birchmere, very euphoric atmosphere, amiable crowd, great sound. i honestly didnt care if i were eating a mcdonalds big mac at a seven eleven as long as I got to see peter.

Don't go unless you are a diehard fan

by UsedToBeAStillsFan on 5/23/13Birchmere - Alexandria

Tork played solo with no accompaniment. Musically, he's simply not talented enough to pull it off. They had a small screen set up, for the first 10 minutes he played an old home movie. He spent most of the time talking, giving a chatty history of his career, with a few stories thrown in. His playing and singing is not good, and was borderline embarrassing. In some cases they played old footage of him singing a song, and he played along with it on stage. It was sad. Of course the 1/2 filled venue was mostly Monkees fans who ate it all up and sang along with a few songs. I've seen videos of Tork with his band, and they seemed competent. If I had known this was going to be Tork unaccompanied I wouldn't have bought tickets, but at least it wasn't expensive.

    Great Fun! What a showman!

Definitely one of the best shows we have seen at The Birchmere. Peter was witty, engaging, had the whole place feeling good! He played the guitar, banjo and piano just like he did years ago. Every time we see him we leave with a happy heart. He signed autographs at the end and did not rush at all. My son (17 years old) juts kept going on and on about what a great show it was and can't wait until July 21st to see Peter, Mickey and Michael at The Warner Theater.
