    Bob Segar Rocked!

by Jennylight on 2/17/12Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

I enjoyed the Orlando Calling Event, however some of the stages could have had something differently set up with their speaker systems. One stage flowed into another. And there could have been a few more bar areas open to the general audience.

    Absolutely euphoric!

by venusbird on 12/6/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

I was at the festival on the first day. I stayed at the main stage throughout the day as I waited for The Killers to take the stage when they closed out the night. Little did I know how much I would enjoy the rest of the acts that preceeded The Killers. I missed The Ettes set, but Gogol Bordello were an atomic bomb on stage. Powerful, eclectic punk sounds and attitude that got the crowd fired up on that warm day. To mix things up, Kid Cudi took the stage next. His set was energetic and full of dancy beats that one can groove to. It was unexpectedly amazing. To continue with the suprising line-up, The Avett Brothers took the stage. Their folky, guitar sound was shockingly danceable. The vocals and energy they put into their set was infectious and soon the whole crowd was dancing along. Next up were the indie rock pioneers, The Pixies. They wowed the crowd as they played the whole of "Doolittle" in track order. They easily competed with any of the other, younger bands on stage that day. Truly unforgettable performance. Now, this is where I hit a snag. The Raconteurs' set was boring and too long. It didn't seem to fit with the rest of the acts that day.The energy and good time vibe just wasn't there for me. But all of that didn't matter much as the crowd buzzed with excitement knowing that The Killers were about to take the stage. Walking on with an epic sounding soundtrack, the four wandering souls from Las Vegas started the crowd dancing by kicking their set off with 'Spaceman'. The energy continued to build throughout their whole set as they ripped through hit after hit. By the time 'All These Things That I've Done' came around, the crowd was in a complete state of euphoria as cannons of never-ending confetti showered ove the whole crowd. They left the stage and the audience had yet to fully recover when they came back on for a heart pounding encore that ended with the anthemic "When You Were Young". Sparks were literally flying as The Killers closed out an unquestionably blissful night.

Hoping for MANY more to come!

by KIBullhorn on 12/3/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

We could only afford to go one day so we chose Sunday - Legendary JC's, Thomas Wynn and the Believers abd Blake Shelton ALL IN ONE PLACE?! Yes, please!! There were so many vendors with fantastic wares to sell, the staff was friendly, and the music was everything I had hoped for and more! This will absolutely be a yearly event for us!

What a fantastic Sunday in Orlando!!!!

by BigMikk on 12/1/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

We sure a glad to have seen that this concert would take place as we were on vacation in Florida. You betcha, it was excellent. Dwight & co, Kid Rock, Bob Seger, Chris Isaak, and all the rest (at least those on Sunday). We hope that this event will continue and we'll have to take a vacation to Orlando once a year- OUCH, hurt me- lol

Only went to see Jack White

by ty420 on 11/30/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

The Raconteurs killed it! Other bands were surprisingly good especially those not featured on the main stage. The pixies were probably my second favorite. The food and "official" merch was way WAY over priced but I guess that is to be expected. $12 for a sandwich.

    Great day of entertainment

by ekim on 11/28/11Orlando Calling - Orlando

Really enjoyed the day. Kid Rock and Bob Seger were great. Enjoyed all of the music at each venue. Highly suggest they consider moving the days to a FRIDAY/SATURDAY combined event - really too late for a Sunday night. Had a great day of entertainment!

It was a new event. They have some kinks to work out, but all in all, it was a decent line up and an interesting use of the grounds. Curious to see what they come up with next year.
