    Orlando Calling

by 07142012 on 11/27/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

This was a very well planned show and a fun day. We would go again if the line-up is as good next year.

Sunday was a better day than Saturday - enjoyed more of the side acts and was blown away by the music quality and ability to get up close to Los Lonely Boys and Buddy Guy. Was able to get as close as I wanted to be for both Kid Rock and Bob Seger without much hassle - we had VIP field seats.

Overall event was great, recommend changing VIP offer next year into two options. One that provides the VIP tents and alcohol benefit and one that provides for guaranteed hassle free up front seating. I value hassle free seating more than the free alcohol.

    Great Event!

by XBgirl on 11/22/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

What a wonderful festival -- I was surprised that attendance wasn't higher. I LOVE Buddy Guy, Los Lonely Boys were incredible, and the Doobies and Seger are still rockin' ! My only complaint was that Kid Rock was WAY too loud - even with my special ear plugs, he gave me a headache with the bass drum line - there's gonna be a lotta deaf people in 25 years or so!!

I'm an official Victim of The Killers

by KillerQueen26 on 11/21/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

The acts I wanted to see most was on the first day (Saturday) Parachute, Civil Twilight, Gavin DeGraw, OAR, Iron & Wine, The Raconteurs, and aboveall The Killers!! I thought this venue had a great line-up of acts to choose from, definitely something for everyone! I ended up not getting to see Gavin DeGraw because my friend really wanted to see Avett Brothers, and I was able to be exposed to diffrent kinds of music groups that I was not familiar with (Kid Cudi and The Pixies). Some of the shows we didn't get to see in it's entirety because we wanted to get to the next act's stage so we could get a good standing spot. Overall, I thought the music festival had a laid-back atmosphere. At some of the stages, people put their blankets on the lawn and laid down to relax, sit back and enjoy the show. The weather was pefect by the way, blue skies, not too hot and not too cold. I loved that there were Camel Back stations throughout the park (free water), which I found very complimetentary, especially when beer was $8 and soda was over-priced. The food was also priced high, but that's to be expected at events like this. Another thing that could have been better was clearere identification of stage names. My friend and I walked by the "Authentic Stage" 2 or 3 diferent times at the beginning of the day because we thought it was a different stage. We asked some of the staff and they didn't seem to be sure either of the stage names :/

    dissapointed

by missimisdemenor on 11/21/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

I thought the entertainers were terrific , however the overall set up sucked! selling only one kind of beer. the bathrooms were a disgrace. the times were to close together, so if you wanted to see someone you had to miss half of who you were already watching! Blues traveelrs didnt show!!

    Pete Yorn was incredible!

by MiamiLC on 11/20/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

The show was very well put together. I went Saturday and loves Pete Yorn... Last minutes to the schedule were not reflected in the application... it should had been so I could had seen Pete Yorn at 2:00 and then been able to see Gavin De Graw at 5:00 Pm... This would help for next year. There was too much time between The Roots/Raccounteurs and the Killers.... 45 minutes...

Music was great ... Vendors were a disappointment!

by HBBrady on 11/20/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

Let's start with the disappointment: having three key sponsors with limited beverage offerings. This limitation was not explained in detail prior to purchasing the VIP package. Also, the food choices were limited (and not very healthy choices). And lastly, having to purchase a costly lanyard to have a map of the venue, as well as $35 t-shirts, were an additional disappointment to say the least. Now for the greatness: the two-day music line-up was diverse as well as most enjoyable! There was a show for every music lover .... including us! Although we were saddened that "The Blues Travelers" did not make the event as scheduled, we truly enjoyed the other performers.

    not thrilled

by Anonymous on 11/20/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

Reserved parking was great - very easy access getting in. The sets were VERY short. Robert Randolph Family Band let me down big time - they didn't play any of their hit songs. Charging $10 for the map/schedule was outrageous!!!! Leaving at 6:30 on Sunday, even though we had reserved parking up close we were forced to walk around the longest way possible to get back to our car, That really pissed me off.

    Best day EVER!

by PixiesDoolittle13 on 11/20/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

The lineup was upside down. The Pixies should have headlined. Then the Raconteurs. The Killers should have opened. Seeing Kim Deal, Frank Black, Jack White and Brendan Benson on the same stage was almost too much to take in!

    Calling Orlando was pure entertainment

by hsteach on 11/19/11Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

What a great event and it should have been a roaring success, however there wasn't enough advance publicity. The publicity blitz was not timed properly. We found out about Orlando Calling on the 6pm television news broadcast. Fortunately for us, we didn't have plans for that weekend and were able to go. We are so glad we went and enjoyed every minute of the event.

Orlando Calling Music Festival - Day 2 - GREAT!!!!

by Nick6000 on 11/18/11The Florida Citrus Bowl & Citrus Bowl Park - Orlando, FL

Great concert overall!! I saw Bob Seger, The Doobie Brothers, Buddy Guy, Kid Rock, Los Lonely Boys, and Blake Shelton! I loved the concerts a lot and had a great time! The only problem was the cost of beverages was to high as well as the cost of parking was to high as well. Besides that I loved all the performances, the music was GREAT!!!!
