Where was Misty Copeland?
Lyric Theatre - New York
We bought tickets for a Saturday night performance ONLY because of Misty Copeland. Were we disappointed when we learned that she was not there. We left at intermission and were sorry that we had stayed that long.

Glad we got to see this very entertaining show before it closed it's run on Broadway. Everyone in the cast was amazingly talented and brought the full house to it's feet.

Misty Copeland run was a brilliant coup for Broadw

My husband and I could not believe our luck that our trip to NYC coincided precisely with Misty Copeland's limited run as Miss Turnstiles!... we had seen so much about her in the media and could not get our tickets fast enough. Well, not only was she exquisite in the dream sequence of Act II, but the comedic timing of all the leading roles (Ozzy in particular) were spot on... we had a marvelous time :)

The show was incredibly entertaining! The performers were all talented, add to the mix the first African American Principal of the ABT made it worth its all!

Overall this was a very enjoyable experience. The theater was cozy with an excellent lobby area, good views, and fun with the cast entering the orchestra seating.

Outdated and dull.
Lyric Theatre - New York
Even with 2 for 1 tickets and the talented ballerina Misty Copeland performing the play had a ton of empty seats.

Bravo for the cast and orchestra!!
Lyric Theatre - New York
I chose this show because my friend and I wanted to see Misty Copeland performing on Broadway. We were very disappointed to learn from the insert in the program that Misty would not be performing although this was her last day in the show. (she only performed at the early matinees) Nevertheless... this review has a happy ending in that the entire cast was hilarious and very talented. The dancing, music and singing were tres magnifique and we got to enjoy the show more then expected.

gone but not forgotten
Lyric Theatre - New York
Show was fantastic and extra special because it was closing night. We experienced at least 4 standing ovations DURING the show! Not seen that ever. Maybe it will return or go on tour to share with others.
Broadway's musical comedy classic is the talk of the town! The New York Times raves, “ON THE TOWN takes your breath away." The Hollywood Reporter calls it "an explosion of pure joy," and The Wall Street Journal urges you to "see it as soon as you possibly can! ON THE TOWN is everything a great show should be!" With the biggest orchestra on Broadway and a 30-member cast of NYC’s most talented singers and dancers, ON THE TOWN tells the story of three sailors on a whirlwind tour of the city that never sleeps. With just 24 hours of shore leave, they’re eager to experience all that New York City has to offer… including a chance to discover love with the girl of their dreams.
Directed by Tony® winner JOHN RANDO (Urinetown, A Christmas Story) and choreographed by Emmy® winner JOSHUA BERGASSE ("Smash"), this big, brassy musical comedy features LEONARD BERNSTEIN’s “rapturous and red-blooded score” (Daily News), lyrics by COMDEN AND GREEN, and breathtaking dancing inspired by the original JEROME ROBBINS choreography. Playing at Broadway's beautifully restored Lyric Theatre, ON THE TOWN is "as fresh as first sunlight. ‘New York, New York’ feels closer to heaven” (The New York Times).
