Not much to do for young adults before fireworks. Good for families. Can't see fireworks much from stadium. Very disappointed.

    So disappointing

    by CANTFINDANAMENOTTAKEN303 on 7/6/17Huntington Park - Columbus

We attended this event in 2015 and it was great. Great price, family friendly and bathrooms for Red White and Boom. I was thrilled to get tickets this year. When we got there I saw a new building that was built in the skyline. We were assured we would still be able to see. Once the fireworks started, the building did obscure most of the view. Many families left. We did. My kids were very disappointed and so was I. I understand that the park was not aware how the building would affect the view for sure. But, unfortunately, I definitely would not recommend this event now. Everything else about the event, other than actually seeing the fireworks, was exceptional.

    Not worth it

    by AF31 on 7/6/17Huntington Park - Columbus

The atmosphere is fun until fireworks start. You Couldn't see the fireworks and people started scrambling to get a good spot. It didn't seem like there was a good spot on the park.

Can't see fireworks from the ballpark.

by mobopomo on 7/6/17Huntington Park - Columbus

The event was fine, in that it was a good place to wait for the fireworks. Having clean bathrooms with running water, a band to listen to, things for kids to do and available water fountains and food and drink concessions.. all of that was worth the price of the ticket. BUT... and this will be a pretty big one... you CAN"T SEE THE FIREWORKS from the ballpark. You can see part of them, a little bit of them, but there are buildings in the way. It's not a good spot for seeing the red white and boom show. So if I were to go to the ball park for red white and boom again, I would leave the park a few minutes before the fireworks start and head down the block to the river to see the fireworks. That would work just fine. As it was, it was kind of funny. The moment the fireworks starts thousands of voices going, "are you kidding me???" and a huge outpouring of people from the park to run down the street so we could see the show.

McGuffey Lane - same old, same old

by Whizkidmyass on 1/29/14Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Well, it was kinda scary by the time the headliners hit the stage. The crowd was the same people I've seen over the last four decades, since the late 70s, just older and grayer. And pretty much the same music, almost note for note ... by the time the band took a break and Delyn Christian started his bad Joe Cocker impressions, the show had jumped the shark. It was time to leave.

perfect weather with a perfect view

by extraordinaryGRL on 7/8/13Huntington Park - Columbus

I didn't even realize the stadium was tucked away in that area by Nationwide and LC Pavilion so that in itself was magical. There were a lot of interactive play items for kids. I wish there'd been more adult activities. It was almost difficult to get parking anywhere close to the stadium b/c nothing was held specifically for event ticket holders. It should have been made more known that assigned seats weren't required for this event which a lot of people didn't seem to understand. There was also misinformation given by ticket window tellers and seating people. For quite number of people it didn't become apparent until they opened the outfield for seating and blankets. I think everyone relaxed at that point and just where convenient. Even staying in the stadium seating having the bands shown on the scoreboard jumbotron let you not miss a moment. The view for Red, White & Boom was spectacular. Just sit anywhere and look towards the scoreboard. The BEST part was sticking around to dance and enjoy the band while half a million people rushed to their cars to sit in traffic leaving downtown. By the time the band finished we leisurely strolled to our car and drove out right away onto the freeway without incident. My mom went to school with members of McGuffey Lane and we've both been enjoying Phil Dirt & the Dozers for about 30+ years so we really had fun! Oh, I can't believe I almost forgot... the opening band New Hollow were such a treasure! They're a trio of cute young TALENTED musicians that have amazing stage presence, spot on vocals, and killer instrumental prowess.

    Phil Dirt & Dozers Great!!!!!!

    by Cruiser2013 on 7/8/13Huntington Park - Columbus

We had six people in our group for red white and boom at Huntington Park. Had a great time watching all bands that played. We would of liked it more if the stage was at second base on ball field instead of having it against center field fence. Band could of played a little longer after fire works. We had another 45min. wait to get out of parking garage. Thank You For A Great Night!!!

McGuffey Lane is not a family event

    by bmw374 on 7/7/13Huntington Park - Columbus

The event had some rain so they moved the stage to center field instead of behind second base. New Hollow is your typical start up band - not bad but not overwhelmingly good. Phil Dirt and the Dozers was good, as usual. I could understand the lyrics of both bands and the music was well balanced. McGuffey Lane took the stage to perform up until the fireworks. The bass was heavy and the lyrics muffled. What parts I could hear were encouragements to drink beer and language most people would not use in front of their mother. I was completely underwhelmed and disappointed. The event allows COTA bus riders in free. That's not a big deal except it seems a little unbalanced that a $5 bus ticket gets everything that my $35 pays for other than an assigned seat. Ah, so I get the advantage of an assigned seat. Well, that assigned seat is in an area where 25% of the fireworks can not be seen. So they open up the outfield for everyone. The outfield was full, by full I mean standing room only, before New Hollow took the stage. If I go again, it will be as a COTA bus rider.
