Great Location, Easy Parking, Awesome Event, but few issues.
by AC on 4/23/24Nationwide Arena - ColumbusTook a friend, my daughter and 3 of her friends to the Columbus Fury vs. Atlanta Vibe game. We are all extremely avid volleyball fans. So, we were looking for forward to this day for a while now. Drive in to Columbus went smooth, Parking the McConnell Garage was very simple and time friendly. Walking into the Arena was short and easy. Security and Ushers were great and knowledgeable, leading us directly to our seats and let us know where restrooms and lounge area location from our seats. I purchased floor seats, so we were right on the corner of the court (great view of game action and able to see every little detail). The pre game email we received from the team was very informative and helpful with each detail of the game and what to expect. Players did not interact with the girls at all, so that was a hope, but not an expectation. Then one of the employees, not an usher I believe came up behind us (creepily put his hands on two of the girls shoulders and asked how they were doing, they responded with good and fine, he kept contact but stood around for awhile without asking anything else and did not inform us of anything. 1st Set went by and there was great action and a smooth tempo to the game even, with replays. The employees in charge of fan ethusiasm did a great job of keeping the fans involved. During the 2nd Set to men that were stumbling drunk were led to their seats right next to my group of girls (5th graders). Same creepy guy came back and must have been friends or friendly with these guys as he joked around with them for a while. During match point, one of the drunk guys lost his balance and fell into our group. I looked around and only the creepy guy attended to us. I asked if they should be here being that intoxicated. He stated these are their seats. The game finished Columbus Won and it was a great time. Would I purchase Floor seats for 4 times the cost of regular seats? Maybe if I was with a group that had the whole row and also have the ability to request a different employee work our row. Floor seats are great if you enjoy the game from that close of a view, otherwise I would pick something center court in the lower bowl. No issues with drinking at a game. Fall down drunk anywhere that serves, seems excessive.
