About

Comedian. Actor. Musician. Advocate. Entrepreneur. Five-time Grammy and Emmy nominee.  Margaret Cho's strong voice has been lighting the path for other women, other members of underrepresented groups, other performers, to follow. Her recent television appearances - guest star on Season 2 of The Flight Attendant (HBO Max), guest star on Season 2 of Hacks (HBO Max) and two Netflix is a Joke comedy specials: Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration and Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin: Ladies Night Live - have expanded an already wide-ranging career, and her role as the 'mother hen' in the well-reviewed movie Fire Island solidifies why we all love Margaret in the first place.

As a comedian Margaret has been named one of Rolling Stone magazine's 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time, one of Vogue magazine's Top 9 Female Comedians of all time, while CNN chose her as one of the 50 People Who Changed American Comedy.  Thankfully, Margaret has more stories to tell, and her production company, Animal Family Productions, has multiple scripted shows in development for 2022 and beyond.

Dated, easy audience, kinda funny kinda weird

    by 90’s Redux on 7/12/23

Audience loved her. She stuck to all the buzzy left leaning trigger words. Abortion, Trump, Republicans, Trans and body parts. No real original funny items to speak of just rambling for audience acceptance and reaction. Her opening comedian was more original and actually funny. I would pay to see him again. Overall I was a bit surprised about her rant on abortion experience. Instead of offering full circle lines of comedy knowledge with good material based on experience, she took the easy way out and was lazy with her routine and delivery. Seattle audience loves a good rant on most anti establishment political humor but this was a laundry list of a comedian not showing imagination or making an effort.

    Incredible and hilarious!

    by Ronnjon on 7/10/23

It was great seeing Margaret Cho again in concert. She was extremely funny. At times I couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard all night long. She is definitely one of my favorite comedians on this planet. Her opening act Daniel Webb was very funny also. All in all, a perfect evening.

    New Experience

    by CCRider on 7/10/23

This show is not for everyone. You better have an open mind. I definitely laughed but as I hadn’t seen her before I was not prepared for the lewdness. I enjoyed it, but being me, once was enough. If you like her brand of comedy it was a five star show. Ps it might make a difference if I was younger, I’m 70.

    SIMPLY AMAZING!!

by Bill on 6/28/23Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

This was my 2nd time seeing her, the 1st time was probably 20 years ago and she is even more amazing now. She has had time to create even more life experiences, which she talks about and uses to make us laugh.

    Still hilarious

by Greg on 6/27/23Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Seen Margaret Cho many times, and this was my second favorite performance ( favorite was her Notorious tour). Had us both in tears several times. Timely and relevant material, and of course with a delicious taste of nasty!

    Funny show at great venue

by emsf on 6/7/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

Margaret Cho and her opener were so funny! I'm so glad I went. And the venue is great too. I love their concession options because they include savory snacks.

    Not much diversity of thought

by AJ on 6/7/23Neptune Theatre - Seattle

Not much content except her gayness or "they"ness. The guy who opened for her was funnier....even though his subject matter was similar.

    Even better with age!

by Gooniemikey on 6/7/23Neptune Theatre - Seattle

This is the 4th time I’ve seen Margaret Cho live, but it’s the first time in 15 years. It was like meeting up with an old friend. A friend that makes you laugh until your face cramps up, but it’s like coming home. Thanks Margaret, we love you!

by T. M. on 6/6/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

Entering and finding our seats was a breeze Ticketing and usher staff were upbeat and friendly Both the warm up comedian and Margaret Cho were hilarious. Laugh out loud hilarious. Loved that some jokes were SF specific.

    Absolutely Hysterical

by LisaE on 6/5/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

Daniel Webb was a great opening act. He was brutally honest, self deprecating and clever. His offbeat delivery had the audience laughing and applauding at the same time. Margaret Cho came on stage in a wild outfit that just gave fuel for the bizarre humor that she is known for. We thoroughly enjoyed her somewhat political stances and her cleverness abounded. We try to catch Margaret Cho live whenever possible. Going to the Palace of Fine Arts is a treat in of itself. Such a magnificent venue!

    Not Inclusive

by JJ on 6/5/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

Every joke was about sexual preference. Just lazy joke writing. Get some new diverse content. There is a lot more to life than sexual preference

Hilarious! She's back and still amazing!

by R. G. on 6/5/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

I haven't seen Margaret Cho doing stand up in quite a while and was so happy that she came to SF. She was as hilarious as ever!

The one and only Margaret Cho

by Johnny Rockett on 5/21/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

First time seeing her, after years of knowing of her. Finally had the opportunity. Was not disappointed. Her comedy is told through a story. It is totally relatable and gives you the full visual, even if that exact topic is not your particular thing, you're laughing your ass off. Her facial expressions are hysterical. I enjoyed her show and would definitely make it a point to see her again.

    Fun (not so family) entertainment

by Carmen DeManding on 5/21/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

She did not disappoint. Still very much current on her commentary. I absolutely loved that she brought back her Mom into the show “Mulaaaaan!” #AdoreChoe

    Non-stop laughter

by Russell on 5/21/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Margaret Cho was irreverent, raunchy, and downright hilarious. She was classic Margaret Cho when she talked of her mother and mocked her relentlessly to great laughs. She had the audience laughing from start to finish. The Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful theater and is the perfect venue for a standup comedian.

    Meh

by Charlie S on 5/21/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

I have long been a Margaret Cho fan and was very excited to addend her newest show. Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say, her performance seemed somewhat flat, as if she were "going through the motions" of using recycled material and trying to give it a new twist. It's a sad statement when the warm-up act is funnier than the main event.
