About

Proving that a great show is always in fashion, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, with its starry rotating cast and compulsively entertaining subject matter, has become an international hit. This intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron is based on the best-selling book, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons' friends. Like the popular book, the show uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to, creating one of the most enduring theatergoing experiences in New York and now across the country.

Love, Loss, and What I wore was a lot of fun!

by Blondgrl on 11/28/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Enjoyed it immensely . I could picture the events described.. I was laughing out loud one moment and brought to tears the next! A very sentimental story and My Mom < My Daughte and I enjoyed it!

    Just so-so.

The acting was good but the material was weak. I usually love Nora Ephron but this was not her best...

Loretta Swit was weak. The lady in the middle was hilarious and the woman on the far right was also great. The 2 others were hit or miss. Not worth the money.

    Boring after awhile

by askibuz on 11/25/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Five ladies sitting there reading out of a book is not my thing- I found this really boring.

    Great "Girls Night Out" event

by RawTriGal on 11/25/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This is a reading performance and was done so well by the actors... I wasn't sure what I was going to see and was delighted from beginning to end. The stories are ones that all women can relate to on some level and we can all see ourselves in the various roles through the various stages of our lives. Spanning generations and at only 90 minutes in length, this is a perfect way to spend time with girlfriends and family. Boys are welcome too, but these are women's stories told from the womens' perspectives.

    Great show!

by HCBmom on 11/25/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I was so excited to see Loretta Swit scheduled to perform but all the ladies shined in this show! It was the perfect night out with my college age daughter and a good friend of mine. I would recommend this to all my girlfriends!

After looking so forward to seeing it, I was sorely disappointed. Overall, good presentation from the actors (though I would have preferred not to have my good memories of Loretta Swit on M.A.S.H. destroyed by seeing her now), but the show "reads" better than being performed live. I find myself laughing aloud when I read Ephron, but this literally put me to sleep.

Love, Loss and What I Wore, is a MUST!

by Morg3 on 11/22/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I really didn't know what to expect when my friend and I decided to make this show part of our Girls Weekend in Chicago however, I am so glad we did! This show was both funny, and pulled on one's heart strings but most of all it was relatable! I found myself thinking "that is so me!!!" It is a must see for all women, you will not be disappointed!

Love, Loss and What I Wore was Horrible

by Anonymous on 11/22/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

It was not a play but a storytime session. It wasnt even funny, but rather stupid and boring. Five women sitting on stage telling stories is not my idea of a good time.

    Women will relate

by jbe930 on 11/22/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Funny and "familiar" stories for women of all ages. I'd definitely recommend going with female friends -- will not resonate with men as much as with women. Thoroughly enjoyed the play.

A little too "old" for me... im early 30s and I think my mom would have enjoyed it a lot more than I did.

    Not impressed

by ChicagoShopper on 11/21/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Possibly my expectations were too high, but I thought it was going to be more comedic than it was. The trailer on Ticket Master showed Rosie O'Donnell doing the "purse" discussion so I thought it would all be funny like that. The "purse" part was probably the funniest part and the rest was just so so. For the money I expected a lot more!

Althought the show was clearly targeted to a female audience, I really enjoyed. The stories were very touching and funny. I took my daughter, she really loved the show as well.

Good, but not what was expected.

by mjewg on 11/20/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I enjoyed this play. Saw it in Chicago with Loretta Switt as guest star. It was cute, funny but i was disappointed she was not as active. I thought she would be the "star"!! The other actors were terrific! It was a good play to see with girlfriends! I think i expected more!~

Love, Loss, and what I wore

by Anonymous on 11/19/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I was so disappointed in Love, Loss, and What I Wore. It was not funny in the least. The readers were not that interesting either. They did not seem too enthralled with the event and had little or no personality in their readings. I came away with all sorts of ideas as to how this should have played out....what i wore when I got fired from my first job, my first kiss, my first sexual experience, the first time I embarrassed myself in front of this really cute guy....etc. There was none of that. Ditch the cancer stuff, way too depressing. Also thought the price was way out of line for a matinee showing, especially one like this that made me regret the whole idea.

Very disappointing, not very funny and even a little depressing. I thought it could have been alot funnier and better if scripts were not used. Also, very distracting and tacky when ladies drank from their water bottles.

Love, Loss and What I Wore - Wonderful

by VickNick on 11/18/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

It was a perfect evening to enjoy with girlfriends which is exactly what we did. Eleven of us enjoyed all the poignant moments, funny moments, happy moments, etc. in a woman's life. The actresses were terrific and their tales hit close to home.

    Great Show-Theatre not so great

by AllMyKids on 11/15/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Had front row seats for show, went with 6 girlfriends. Beware if you have to go to the washroom they will not let you back in and you will miss the show. My friends were let out to go but were then told they could not go back in and there was no intermission. Ridiculous. They should let you know or have a short intermission or perhaps not sell the expensive drinks we bought before the show. They had to fight with a gentlemen in front of the theatre to let them back in when they asked for their money back. They missed 20 minutes of a 90 minute show. Shameful. Will not see any plays at Watertower!!! Otherwise the play was great, made me laugh and cry. Great to see Loretta Swit and Taylor or "Nina" from All my Children. Did you hear us yell from the limo???

    The Ultimate Ladies' Day Out

by Travelgrrl on 11/15/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The Chicago version was led by Loretta Swit, who was very good despite some serious facial work that somewhat immobilized her face. The other four actresses were fantastic, they really seemed to be having a ball on stage. We cried a little and laughed a lot. Very sweet and poignant play, something all women and their daughters can identify with. There were few men in the audience but I think anyone would get a laugh out of this play Norah Ephron took a leaf from Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues play with her staging, but with the addition of the original drawings from the book Love Loss and What I Wore. If you haven't read the book, it's just charming.
