Everyone on the bill was funny - with the exception of Sarah Silverman who seems to have been unaware that she was supposed to perform that night and showed up reading from notes that she had trouble deciphering. If looking unprepared was her "bit,"it wasn't funny. Overall, though, a very funny show, capped off by a great set by Jon Stewart. My biggest complaint is not about the venue (LOVE the Greek Amphitheatre) or the show, but about rude audience behavior. Gary Clark Jr. came out to perform a few songs, and the couple behind us evidently wasn't interested, so they took the opportunity to have a conversation at full volume. They were "shushed"a couple of times but kept on chatting. (And before you say "why not just turn around and ask them to be quiet,"in my experience that often produces the opposite result, or even if it works you have to sit there feeling like there are hostile glares directed at the back of your head.) It's gotten to the point where I almost don't want to go to live shows anymore because people think they can behave as if they were in their living room in front of a TV. I wish they WOULD stay home and watch TV, rather than spending money on a show they don't plan to pay attention to -- and spoiling the experience for people who DO want to hear the performers. End of rant - but I hope you loud-talkers out there will someday learn how to behave at a live performance.
