When the hell are we going to get another episode??? We have to wait too long between episodes. The wait is horrible. Plus I think I would make a good content provider for your show.
I can understand an audience member’s plea for Jon to run for president, given his being the voice of reason in the current environment of divisiveness. While he deserves to spend more time with his family, it was good to have him back for an evening.
Listening to Jon Stewart is always entertaining. I did think the audience Q&A was disjointed. Rather than ushers walking around with mics, should have had lines form in the aisle behind mics, or collect them on cards to screen out the self-promoting audience members.
Fascinating intellectual discussion and humor to boot
Jon Stewart was interviewed by Kerry Nolan (WQXR) on a variety of topics she introduced. We laughed, bemoaned the present political landscape, urged him to return to TV or run for office himself!
Stewart was great, very enjoyable, funny and poignant. Moderator could have had some follow up questions and she ran out of questions?? That was odd. Audience questions really needed to be screened.... Jon handled them really well he is clearly a professional.
We watch his show regularly and felt that he was reusing a lot of the same shtick we'd heard on the show. While often his show is extremely funny, we really did not find him that funny live.
First of all, Mr Stewart came on the stage 15 minutes late with no explanation or apology which I think is rude and arrogant. To his credit, he did do his 90 minute performance, despite the late start. He is very bright and very funny, but I found his repeated and frequent use of the "F" word distracting and unncecssary. Is it not possible to complete one whole sentence in 90 minutes without it? It is because of this that I would not recommend this show to very many of my friends.
Jon Stewart was phenomenal! Show started late by 30 mins. Parking was a impeded by the previous show letting out late. Service was friendly at refreshment stand and seating.
Jon's performance was everything you had come to expect. Topics ranged from topical religious humor, to the lack of political discourse in American society, to being a dad and raising kids today. Each subject was dealt with the usual sarcasm and insight we've come to expect after watching him for years on "The Daily Show." My sides hurt from laughing so hard. I sincerely hope that he comes back to Durham.
The best comic performer of this century lived up to that title.
Jon Stewart was amazing. The show was funny start to finish.
An excellent performance that balanced local commentary and national/international political critique. The comparison of Jewish Holidays and Christian Holidays was poignant and hilarious. Audience participation did not add to the show, but also did not particularly detract from it. The biting commentary on national politics is his forte' and stock-in-trade, and this was no exception. Reliance on profanity is excessive, but it has come to be permitted and expected in live performances. His ability to project facial expressions as part of the narrative is amazing. His anecdotes on the attention span of Congress and the Public is regretably on track. His protrayals of the speaking styles of Obama and Bush showed get insight.
This was a great evening out. Felt like the show was worth the expense. The seats were great, the sound was great, and we got to laugh for 1.5 hours!
Jon Stewart is hilarious; we laughed so hard it hurt. Nothing is sacred, and it was side-splitting. He even ran long because he was on a roll and enjoying himself. My only complaint is for the Meyerhoff - his microphone wasn't up high enough, and those of us up in the top tier had a hard time hearing, so there were a few jokes we missed.
he was funny. i was sleepy so it wasn't an AMAZING show for me, but for a die-hard JS fan, it's a good time.
Excellent show. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent facility.
Really looking forward to this event. Big fan of Jon Stewart. The hall is beautiful, seats were great but...we couldn't hear about 1/2 of what he said. Very disappointing. But, what we did hear, we loved.
Jon Stewart was amazing! He jokes that people ask him if he's feeling ok when they see him on the street. He did look very tired, but that had NO impact on his cutting wit and humor. I laughed so hard that by the time I left I had a headache! A very fun, headache! What a great show.
