    In the Heights...yes, please

    by Drummer034 on 6/14/12Milwaukee Theatre - Milwaukee

The show was incredible and the cast did an amazing job. Unfortunately, it is not too well-known so there weren't many in attendance, which is too bad because they did a fantastic job.

In The Heights was a fun show!

by IntheTownKT on 6/12/12Milwaukee Theatre - Milwaukee

The show was really good! The quality of singing was great and the actors did a great job. The modern setting was fun and new. However, it reminded me very much of West Side Story, so it was sort of the same thing all over again.

In the Heights was the height of entertainment!

    by Jomomma9121 on 6/12/12Milwaukee Theatre - Milwaukee

Great show, great music, cool dancing and fun story. For a musical it had it all and we would see it again if it came to town or on our next trip to NYC.

compared to the original production on Broadway

by Anonymous on 6/11/12Milwaukee Theatre - Milwaukee

Great vocals. Good dancing. Good timing on humorous lines and lyrics. We are from Washington Heights in NYC and saw the show off Broadway, then on Broadway and so have been fans from the outset. The roles of abuela and Nina's father were played in Milwaukee as well or better than they were on Broadway.

    What a show!

by Samanthahaha on 3/24/12Emens Auditorium - Muncie

I had been wanting to see this show for many years and was excited it was making it through Indiana. Saw the touring cast and it was FANTASTIC. Great actors, great music and just a great evening, would recommend to anyone. It was my sister's first musical and she was blown away.

    Skeptic no more!

by Jomartha on 2/28/12Elliott Hall of Music - West Lafayette

I'll admit, I attended this performance under duress. I absolutely DETEST Elliott Hall of Music for its horrible sightlines. Also, most touring companies refuse to use the in-house sound system, which is excellent. I resent paying high prices and being unable to see or hear a production, and thus have refused to attend Broadway shows in this particular venue. "In the Heights" was a completely different experience for me. I don't know if it was the particular seats I had, but I could actually SEE this production (even though, like every other touring company in the world, they had to use a false proscenium because the Elliott stage is so HUGE.) This show is a total package. From the opening notes, I was sold. The singing, the dancing, the acting, the set, the lighting - everything came together for a thoroughly enjoyable theatrical experience. Did I mention the dancing? Fabulous! It is especially remarkable when I found out that they arrived at the Hall at 2:00 in the afternoon, loaded in the set, did a sound check, and opened the house 90 minutes later. Now that's professional! Would I recommend this to a friend? Absolutely - even at Elliott Hall!

    Just OK at best

by JAF45 on 11/22/11CHS Performing Arts Center - Charleston

The play was mediocre at best. The main character did a good job mixing rap in with the actual singing. He actually carried the play for the most part, except for his mother, who I think delivered the most meaningful song. The story line seemed to simple, and the continued music, most sounding like a mariachi band tempo, just led to boredom. There is much more to Latin music than that. I was hoping for better, but left feeling that I never really connected with the characters and was actually bored at times. The play was also predictable from the beginning. Yes the cast had energy, but it takes more than that to make a great play.
