Worth it at 50% off. Only go if a big GoT fan.
by Jefferson17 on 4/8/17Levoy - MillvilleFirst - unless you are a pretty big fan of the show do NOT see this. It won't be worth your time. Second - wait until the last minute then call the theater and get tickets at 50% off. I promise that the show is NOT worth paying full fare. The good: There are moments of real brilliance. About half the show is really quite good. Bryony was certainly the star, with Paul delivering some excellent moments. It was best when Graeme was not on stage at all. The bad: The overall structure of the show is ill conceived as a kind of pitch performance to potential investors. Whenever the show does this - and it comes back to it over and over again during the 90 minutes - it simply comes off as self serving, isn't interesting and is just lazy. So again and AGAIN, once we get going and are really starting to enjoy ourselves - Graeme stops the damn show and totally breaks up what would be a pretty good string of vignettes with yet another idiotic diatribe where he talks directly to us about investing in the show or the other cast members to remind them how important the night is to them. Graeme - STOP DOING THAT. It's a horrible idea and it just does NOT WORK. The opening was good. Then, that should have been the ONE AND ONLY PLACE where Graeme introduces the cast, does that cute bit about nudity waver, etc - and then DO THE DARN SHOW AND DON'T BREAK THE PERFORMANCE AGAIN. Graeme - in case you somehow think that I'm wrong then consider why there were nearly 400 EMPTY AND UNBOOKED SEATS tonight in Millville. And consider why your reviews are consistently all over the place. It's a clue - do it differently and give people what they really want. What we want are the stories and interpretations of scenes and characters. We most emphatically do NOT want you pretending this is some stupid pitch to a bunch of potential investors. Drop that concept and stick to doing cool creative scenes and you will have a real winner on your hands, fill a lot more seats and make more money and have a LOT MORE HAPPY CUSTOMERS. Unless you do, this will be a partially clever "one off", and no one will want to see it twice. A lot of people won't bother to see it once ... because they looked up the reviews. See the pattern? We are trying to help you - give us what we want. I'm doing you a favor - I'm being really honest. The parts that were good were really quite good - we just want more of that.
