About

Goo Goo Dolls, a band that rose from the punk scene in Buffalo, New York, penned several of the most definitive hits of the ’90s. Forming in 1985, the Goo Goo Dolls experimented with hard rock before landing on a winning formula that incorporated elements of acoustic and alternative rock for 1995’s A Boy Named Goo. The album yielded the band’s first Billboard 200 chart placement at No. 27 and its unlikely third single “Name” climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1998, the band vaulted to global ubiquity with “Iris,” a ballad written for the City of Angels soundtrack that later ushered in their quintuple-platinum sixth album Dizzy up the Girl. The song remained atop the former Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 weeks, a record that stood until 2020. The Goo Goo Dolls solidified their stratospheric success with the equally catchy follow-up single “Slide,” which hit No. 8 on the Hot 100 and was certified platinum itself. In 2002, Gutterflower earned the band their highest Billboard 200 peak at No. 4, while 2006’s Let Love In added more catalog highlights like “Better Days'' and a cover of Supertramp’s “Give a Little Bit.” Founding members Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac have toured extensively across the 2010s while maintaining a steady output of new projects, including 2019’s Miracle Pill and 2022’s self-produced Chaos in Bloom.

    Amazing night

by Vmd512 on 9/30/23Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion - Portsmouth

We had 6th row tickets and this was the 5th time I’ve seen the GGD. They were as awesome as ever. Great show, stood all night and both John and Robby rocked it like they were 20 years younger.

Great venue and even better show!

by Big8joeg on 9/27/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

New amphitheater is nicely set signage and a great venue. Understandably staff were unsure at times but handled themselves like pros! Goo goo dolls were fantastic and sounded incredible! Need better signage for how to enter as NONE were present. Absolutely will attend another show at this venue.

    Enjoyable Experience

by Omahockey on 9/26/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

The new venue at LaVista, NE (Astro Ampitheatre) was very nice. Loved the band and the music. Renewed my appreciation for the Goo Goo Dolls. Some great newer songs as well to add in the mix. I still feel they are one of the most under rated bands of all time.

Goo Goo Dolls at Astro Theater

by T.T. on 9/26/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

Had a great time at a new smaller venue in Nebraska. Enjoyed hearing some of the old and some of the newer music. Would definitely see them again! This was my fourth time seeing them live.

Loved the venue and my favorite Artists!

by Parking garage was horrible on 9/26/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

Artists were awesome and amazing! Volume was great. Didn't like that the seats though they were right in front of each other instead of being like theater style seats where you can see between people's heads. Seats were also tiny and shoulder to shoulder for the size of elementary school kids. Alot of people stood in the back. We joined them after the first show. Parking garage needed traffic attendants to direct traffic flow. We parked on ground level and the top levels got out first before us. We had to wait about 46 - 60 min to get out. Definitely will show up earlier and not park in garage again. Great venue for artists!

    Fun environment and fun setting

by JAYBIRD on 9/26/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

John and Robby were fantastic as always. The Astro Amphitheater with it's second show ever was awesome and John Rzeznik voice was incredible. I have been to a lot of Amphitheaters like Red Rocks, also the Gorge , and was impressed at how well the Astro sounded in a little outdoor Amphitheater setting between a little water pond on the north and the CITY CENTRE apartments on the south the acoustics were above my expectations. The food and drink prices where not outrageous and the City Pub was fun inside and outside upstairs before the concert. Overall very impressed with the Venue and sound. I will be back this year for Bad Religion and 311...Go Astro Amphitheater or stay home!!!

    Still Got It

by Kimby on 9/26/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

Johnny's voice is still amazing, his guitar playing is magical, Robby is a joy to watch play. I've seen this band three times and they never disappoint. As some bands age you reflect on how they used to sound BUT NOT the Goo Goo Dolls. Amazing experience

    AWESOME!!!

by JBreit on 9/26/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

They put on SUCH a good show!! This was my first time seeing them in concert and I really want to see them again! They had a great setlist (which I bought an autographed copy of- SO COOL!). The energy and vibe was the best; I really enjoyed how John Rzeznik connected with the crowd. I definitely want to see them again!

Goo Goo Dolls are just Amazing!

by Chuck on 9/26/23The Astro Amphitheater - La Vista

This band always amazes me! So clear, high energy, fun and they pump out the hits!! I know the LaVista venue just opened, but, beer lines were a joke, no cash and then they were pouring cans in plastic cups. It took almost the entire opening act to get one beer. Parking garage is a joke as well. Had to pay your 4 dollars by credit card after the show, ridiculous lines of cars. Charge cash as you drive in, this will save 90% of the time. The venue is beautiful, just need to figure out the logistics.

    Memories

by Ash on 9/25/23Ozarks Amphitheater - Camdenton

The Goo Goo Dolls sounded like the ‘90s and took us back to that bada** time in our GenX lives while, at the same time, giving younger fans a new appreciation for their amazing lyrics and guitar riffs. Johnny’s voice was just beautiful, but they can still rock out, too. We had an amazing time.
