Great night, the Music box has been renovated, it is even better now with outstanding acoustics. Fat Freddys droped it like its hot
Fat Freddy's Drop was an epic show for sure! Flew all the way from Colorado to go to this show with my girls. It was totally worth it!!!
Incredible show...everything was dynamite with the exception of the random white rapper that came on stage for two songs and bit off Mos Def and Talib Kweli....let's hope we never see his face again-
the band played good but their song selection wasnt too good
Loved it! Easily the best show I have been to in LA. Love this band, their sound is amazing and the venue was great, the sound was wonderful and we could get right up the front with even plenty of room to dance.
Hands down the best event I've been to this year. Music was incredible, the crowd was totally into it. You're not going to find a better value for entertainment than seeing Fat Freddy doing their thing live.
I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes a good beat to check these guys out ~ the instrumentals are sick The place was packed and it was a super fun show~danced all night :)
Fat Freddys Drop were amazing. The played all their great tunes, sounded great and connected with the crowd. I had an amazing time and cant wait to see them again on their next tour.
The boys from New Zealand hit it out of the park again. Amazing show. The first set was incredible, very high energy and slick rifs, transitions and solos. Not sure where they picked up the white rapper from Mendocino though, he was a complete distraction and not at good one. For me, I think the band pretty much lost the crowd and the spell bounding hold they had on everyone after that. It just wasn't able to recover at quite the same level even after dude was off the stage. This show was definitely more mellow than their last LA show at the Roxy, which was totally uptempo and killer the whole set. This had a lot of space, a lot of solos and a lot of groove, which is typical FFD magic, but I would have preferred a more high-energy, intense performance, which I know they can deliver. I think the only bad call was letting an amateur get on stage with them and funk everything up. Awesome band, awesome show - so blessed that they are making it big and hope they come back to Cali soon!
