Eddie Palmieri and La Perfecta II's performance was full of energy from start to finish. It was a great thrill to dance to their live show. I love how the musicians interact with one another. Fabulous! The only negative was the hassle to be seated for dinner. The manager was quite rude. Once we were all seated the food and the service was very good. Overall, the evening was wonderful!!
Palmieri and La Perfecta played their classic hits using the two trombone and flute combination that made him famous. A mix of new and veteran new york based musicians recreated the style of the 70's salsa scene that was popular with the dance crowd then and now. The performance was well attended and except for a technical problem that made the bass player silent after about 90 minutes into the performance, the music was flawless.
Eddie and his jazz musicians were great!! Each member is a musical genius. My husband and I like various types of jazz and this was the first time we heard of Eddie Palmieri. Reading his biography, we became curious, so we wanted to hear him. I must say, we were not disappointed.
started 10 minutes late, but that was okay, really, as the groups' performance was great. Eddie does'nt hang his tongue out anymore (thank goodness) and still plays his butt off. His age makes no difference. The band, especially the conguero, was amazing.
One of the highest energy performances Ii have ever seen. The sound system was fantastic and the band was really on. Highly recommend hearing Palmieri and his group of amazing musicians.
