The concert was way too short. 3 or 4 songs and it was over. Very disappointed concert.
Amazing! Waited 18 months to see the legendary Eddie Palmieri and he was WELL worth the wait but the concert was only 1 hour and 15 minutes! I could have watched him perform for another hour! Covid really has put a hurting on us but the venue handled this concert perfectly!
Seeing Eddie, performance, was truly uplifting ❤ . I have been a true fan since a teenager in the 60's. It almost bought tears to my eyes, to see him in person. It was a experience of a life. God bless him!!!
Too short Just one hour wasnt anough to enjoy the amazing band .
Wonderful to see Eddie and his band after so long due to the pandemic. Enjoyed the concert tremendously.
Seeing Eddie Palmieri was on my must see concert list, as it was back in the late 60s when I last saw him. Was pleasantly surprised and overjoyed to attend this 7pm showing, but extremely disappointed upon learning that at 815pm…. the show was over! Very disappointing, MUCH to short!!
Eddie Palmieri a legend in salsa and jazz there is never a complaint about him or his performance , how ever the venue was a bit confusing as to where he was preforming signage would’ve help a lot !
I Attended the Eddie Palmieri 7pm concert on Saturday at Queens college and although the acoustics and performance were excellent. The event only lasted an hour and it seemed like no one including Eddie and the band were aware it would be so short. After Eddie announced a brief intermission, the concert director came out and said the performance was over because they have another one at 9pm. People were very confused to say the least. We were all enjoying the sounds and most likely everyone expected at least another half hour of show (since it was only 8:07pm). I guess next time I will purchase tickets to the later performance hopefully the show won’t end so abrupt.
The experience was great, Eddie Palmieri musical talents are a pleasure to hear and experience. The musicians playing with Eddie are also superb, the musical chemistry is precise, harmonious and expressive. Hope to see Eddie perform again ASAP!
Hearing Eddie Palmieri since the womb made this concert a MUST-see, MUST-experience event. Mr. Palmieri and his band were EXTRAORDINARY. And I'm beyond grateful I was in attendance for this concert. Eddie Palmieri has always exemplified excellence and that night was no different! Thank you, Mr. Palmieri for all you have contributed to the world. It was an honor to be here.
Paid full price for only 1 set 4 songs. Kicked out at intermission for new set of customers.
Some my ask "Eddie who?" My parents introduced me to his music and I share it with my children. Phenomenal playing and musicianship. Eddie is eighty and frail; but, still plays with vivacity, love and pride. If there's an opportunity to hear him, seizes it! It may be a lifetime before another of his kind comes around. Eddie surrounds himself with an exceptional ensemble. Bass, percussion and wind work in harmonious tandem with the virtuoso's wisdom and gift. Each musician given opportunity to showcase their talents to the delight of listening public. This went off big for date night. The Laurie Auditorium is an ideal venue where the performer and audience can connect. Lastly, this is a bargain ticket. Why pay twice as much to hear music half as good.
Other than parking situation for this venue, everything about concert was excellent. Particularly liked the fact that the musicians remained after the concert was over to autograph fans posters, etc.
Wonderful performance but at around 1 hr way too short
Great intimate venue and an awesome concert by one of the greatest Latin Jazz performers ever. Loved it!
Combining the best of jazz with the best of of Afro/Cuban/Latin rhythms is one of the most exciting music played today. And when it is performed by the best of the best musicians, it becomes a once in a lifetime musical experience.
They played just one set for 1 3/4 hours. Disappointed at the numbers chosen to play and the prices for the tickets. The venue is a perfect place to have a concert.
Forget about seeing any other Salsa Ochestra live. This is the one that you HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT. The tracks they put on were long and full of melody. I recommend having someone dancing with you when they are on. Eddie is the MAESTRO on the Piano!
Played only for 40 mins. Then left the seen. Then it was DJ all night . That's not wright at all for those ticket prices
The band truly deserves five stars, but the performance was tempered by the brief actual time on stage which seemed about half as long as other venues--plus, there was an intermission. Beer prices listed on the in-house menu did not match the stiff $13 per beer which appeared on the actual bar-tab. Ouch! My date brought up the subject for discussion.
