About

DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL is the record-setting Broadway holiday sensation which features the hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the original animated special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss' original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville and helps remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season. Don't miss what The New York Times calls "AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE! 100 times better than any bedtime story."

    Professional and Funny!

by FamilywTeenagers on 12/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We took our 14 and 19 year old. At first we thought it may be too young for them. But we ALL LOVED it!! A fun show to get you in the Holiday Spirit. Smaller kids stayed engaged too.

    For Kids

by Julsch on 12/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This was definitely more of a show geared toward kids. Wish we would have known, we would have chosen a different Christmas show. It started a little slow, but by the end it had picked up and was enjoyable.

    Energetic

    by Billysmom2 on 12/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The actors nailed their parts. It was really good. We enjoyed Max in the older version being the story teller. He looked like Santa!! For the price of the tickets, the show was a little short on time, but overall, it was an excellent performance.

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Saved my Christmas

by montezh on 12/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

My wife and I took our niece to the show and we had an absolute blast!! Very, very entertaining. The Grinch was funny and engaging with the crowd. We loved all 90 minutes of the show. Can't wait to see it again next year.

    Forgettable performance

    by RunnerGirl8 on 12/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

As a true Grinch fan, I was disappointed by the yellow and green face on the Grinch and the fact that Max was portrayed as a black dog, not a brown dog. The actress who played Cindy Lou Who was fantastic-a great voice! I also did like that they incorporated the original rhyme into the musical. I liked that Cadillac Palace connects you to the parking garage and you can get prepaid discounted parking. However the cost for Sunday parking when we put in our parking ticket was $14. I had already paid $16 on the website. I felt fairly cheated.

    Grinch was a nice treat!

    by Grayslake3 on 12/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

My 4 year-old loved the performance. The set, the singing, costumes and color was a lot of fun. We also loved that the actors participated with the audience. There were also a few bits of humor that got the little ones laughing. I would definitely recommend it!

    Good, but not Spectacular

by TheaterMomma on 12/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Although I like the fact that it was only 80 minutes or so (no intermission), my kids and I were a little bored. Cindy Lou was adorable, the Grinch was great, but all the other characters were lackluster, at best. Also, the other musical numbers were not catchy and a little snoozy. "Your'e a Mean One" was an awesome sing along, but there needed to be more songs like that one. All in all, for the ticket price, I was a little disappointed.

We had a great time seeing a wonderful play. The grand kids 5 and 9 really enjoyed the play. They were memorized throughout. Really fun for the whole family and a great way to get ready for Christmas.

    Totally worth it!

    by Lee5891 on 12/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We had so much fun! I took my mom, grandma, and 5 year old sister - We all loved it and had a great time! The musical followed the storyline of the original book, but the Grinch character had the personality of Jim Carey in the Grinch movie. He was hysterical and did a great job. It was about an hour and a half with no intermission. The 7pm show was a little late for my sister so she was starting to get sleepy about half way through but she made it through and loved it. Definitely recommend!

    Great show for all ages

by Anonymous on 12/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Took our 3.5 year old and our 1.5 year old. Oldest loved it, youngest liked it, but fell asleep through part of it. The Grinch character is great, a cross between the more modern interpretation, and what you envision in the book. I could see how some scenes could be scary to young ones, we started reading the book at the beginning of December so the kids would at least know that there is a happy ending. All in all it was a great show, the theater is very nice, and everyone was very helpful and kind throughout the event. Only downside were inconsiderate people who kept trying to take pictures despite repeated warnings b the ushers.

    Fun for whole family

by Anonymous on 12/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Took my wife and 3 boys ages 12, 9 and 6. Everyone had a great time. The Grinch was very funny and the actors were great. 90 minute show with no intermission. Only negative was we went on a Sat night and there was only 1 concession area open with only 1 server. Then they closed it when the show started.

We don't get out to see musicals often because of cost. I got a bonus check at work and we decided to see the Grinch. So happy with my purchase. My son wanted to go back the next day to see it again.

How the Grinch stole our hearts..and made us laugh

by ADPT on 12/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

What a wonderful show...one of the best I've seen in a long time. The costumes were amazing...the cast was great. The length of the show was perfect for children (and adults!) with no intermission necessary or provided. We will see this again next year without fail! Even better than we expected!

    The Grinch was wonderful!

by DaycareMamma on 12/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Excellent show and very entertaining! I brought 4 children between the ages of 10 and 13 and they all loved it! The talent of the cast was amazing. Cindy Lou Hoo had a beautiful voice, and when the older dog sang "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" it gave me chills! I would most definitely recommend this show. Very, very good!
