Miami-born Chris Cab, a.k.a. Cristian Cabrerizo, got an early start singing and writing songs. By age 14 he had recorded his first demos, and at age 15 he caught the attention of Pharrell Williams. Under Pharrell's mentorship, Cab made his debut in 2011 with the Foreword EP, following up a year later with the Echo Boom EP. These early releases, along with his electrifying performances on tour, earned him a considerable fanbase and another high-profile mentorship, this time with Wyclef Jean. Cab's 2012 single "Good Girls (Don't Grow On Trees)" was written by Pharrell and produced by Wyclef Jean, and it received praise from critics for its unique blend of influences.
