Memorable performance!
by Silvertop on 5/3/11Boettcher Concert Hall - DenverThe Colorado Symphony performance of April 16 featured the remarkable artistry of the associate concert master, Claude Sim. My companion and I were swept away by the expressive performance of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Mr. Sim's mastery of his instrument enabled a nuanced yet powerful interpretation of this beautiful melodic work. We left the concert on a high as did many others in the aduience, judging from their prolonged appreciation displayed at the end of the concerto. Recordings may be more "perfect" but will never come close to touching one's soul as does an intelligent,, heartfelt, live performnce such as this. Congratulations to conductor, Scott O'Neil, the orchestra members, and soloist!
