About

After being extended twice on Broadway, COLIN QUINN LONG STORY SHORT aired as an HBO Special in April 2011. Comically channeling the demise of great world empires, Colin Quinn uses his "articulate brand of comedy" in taking audiences through an uproarious history of the world in 75 minutes. From his personification of Caesar as the original Italian mobster to his complaints about Ancient Greece and Antigone giving way to Costco and Snooki, Quinn is at his satirical best, taking on the attitudes, appetites and bad habits that toppled the world's most powerful nations.

    Colin Quinn was... Colin Quinn

    by Stonewall59 on 2/1/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I got these tickets because I saw that Colin Quinn "Long Story Short" was directed by Jerry Seinfeld. I enjoyed Colin Quinn when he was on Saturday Night Live and I heard him here and there on the Howard Stern Show, but Seinfeld is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I was really hoping to detect Jerry Seinfeld's humor in this show, but sadly I can't really say that I did. I probably would not have bought tickets for this show if I had not seen Seinfeld's name involved with it. The show was pretty funny. It was about an hour long where Colin Quinn comically goes through history making fun of all nationalities. Nothing appeared to be offensive as far as I can tell (these days every one is offended by everything anyway, so I'm probably alone on that one). It was a nice night out and a nice old-style venue in Boston. (Wilbur Theater) The show kind of ended abruptly. We both kind of though that was odd.

Colin Quinn = Money Well Spent

by AAbbott on 1/31/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Seeing Colin Quinn in person is a great experience under any circumstances. But his Long Story Short gives you almost 90 minutes of great laughs in an interesting format. Money well spent, for sure.

A Social History of the World in Comedy

by Upperleft on 1/31/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Really witty and great show. Colin Quinn is wonderful. You have to pay attention because he moves through so much material quickly and you can miss something if your mind strays. I highly recommend this show.

Colin Quinn kept me laughing long after the show

by Wans2travel on 9/12/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

What a talented man! Colin Quinn covered the history of civilization in about an hour and a half. I never knew history could be so funny. I didn't know what to expect and I was totally blown away by his pin point delivery. He has every ethnic accent down and his insights into how history is continually repeating itself is amazing. It was a very enjoyable evening out. The three of us continue to bring up things we heard in the show 3 days after the event...now that is a successful show!
