My boyfriend and I attended this event for a short afternoon break from the routine. We don't have children, but this was still a cute, enjoyable show. We had seen Cirque de Soleil shows in the past, and this was a nice shoot-off from those, geared towards kids. Great set and costumes, music and the skill of the acrobats was impressive.
Cirque Mechanics: Birdhouse Factory was a good mix of acrobatics and dance. I was disappointed that a few of the show items shown on YouTube were not part of the performance. It was based in a family setting and was only an hour long. Which, for the price was perfect! It did not seem to be as thrilling as other Cirque shows I have seen in the past, but you can't beat it for the price.
I'm a fan of Cirque du Soleil, which has made me a little difficult to impress. However, Cirque Mechanics did it, big time. This felt like a Cirque du Soleil production, but on a smaller scale. Birdhouse Factory is musical theater combined with acrobats, juggling, a contortionist, rope artists (think P!nk's performance of "Glitter In The Air"), a German Wheel, and an incredible trampoline act. It is an all-ages show, and hearing the giggles from the younger audience members definitely enhanced my own enjoyment. This was a performance that kept me on the edge of my seat and inspired one elderly audience member to ask if Cirque Mechanics put an age limit on their performers. If you get the chance, you should treat yourself to a viewing of this show.
Great blend of awe and entertainment, true talent and fun. All ages can enjoy this show equally. It's a scaled-down version of a Vegas Cirque show - made for a regular theater. You couldn't expect better than this performance.
