About

This country and Southern rock superstar is best known for his massive crossover hit, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” However, Charlie Daniels is also a card-carrying representative of the Grand Ole Opry and a member of the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. As a prolific guitarist, singer and fiddler, Daniels continues to sell out concerts and play everyone’s favorite ditty, even after 60 years in the limelight. Part of his appeal is the casual, accessible and down-home quality of his shows. He perpetually attempts to play his best and devotes himself to pleasing fans and improving his skill, all while providing a high-energy environment that gets people on their feet, dancing, clapping and singing along. Tickets to his current North America tour will no doubt please fans. Still crafting new pieces, Daniels and his merry band of Southern rockers released Hits of the South in 2013, and the all-original album Take Back the USA, with its nationalistic spirit, in 2012.

Daniels’ songwriting talent is legendary. Beginning in the early 1950s, he penned songs for prominent musicians, while simultaneously playing backup for legendary artists Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Hank Williams, Jr. Upon turning 21, Daniels sang with his first official band, the Jaguars, while earning a living as a session musician. His first big break was “It Hurts Me,” a song that he co-wrote and was recorded by Elvis Presley. From there, Daniels released his self-titled first album in 1971. Dozens of albums followed, with several going platinum, including Fire on the Mountain, Million Mile Reflections -- featuring “The Devil Goes Down to Georgia" -- and Full Moon. His latest collection continues to draw a strong audience, and his famous boot-stomping, devil-besting anthem endures, just as he does, with contemporary artists covering the tune to wide acclaim.

Both excellent shows. The venue was great, not a bad seat in the place. Would recommend seeing any kind of show there.

    Great night!

    by C. F. on 12/20/19Choctaw Grand Theater - Durant

This concert was a nice surprise. The Charlie Daniels Band was very upbeat and very engaging. Travis Tritt did not disappoint...he played all of his standards plus some new music. Nicely paced and very entertaining.

    Love this venue

    by M. L. on 12/17/19Choctaw Grand Theater - Durant

First time attending a concert at this venue and I have to say it was great! Not a bad seat in the house, sound system was great and beverages are easily accessible as well as reasonably priced. I’ll definitely look to come back for future performances.

    Charlie Daniels

by Lindy on 12/17/19Choctaw Grand Theater - Durant

I really enjoyed the show provided. I love his patriotism. Wish I could have heard is voice better though. His keyboardist was set too loud and drowned out all the vocals. That was a big disappointment. I am glad I got to see the legend though, because he has been playing my whole life and to be still playing at 83 is outstanding. Need to turn down the keyboard though.

    Great show

by Karen on 12/17/19Choctaw Grand Theater - Durant

Never knew Charlie Daniels was such a great guitar player and entertainer. At his age he still has a strong singing voice and moves well around the stage. His band is also great as well. Travis Tritt exceeded our expectations and sang his heart out.

    Too loud!

    by g. c. on 12/17/19Choctaw Grand Theater - Durant

Love charlie daniels music but when the music is so loud that the words of the songs cant be heard then its too loud. Weve seen him before and that wasnt the case but this time our seats vibrated on occasion.

    Best shows!

by Vashtiruescode3 on 12/17/19Choctaw Grand Theater - Durant

From the small size of the venue, to the intimate moments you get with the artists because youre so close, this show was by far one I will never, ever forget. Charlie Daniels and Travis Tritt have two of the biggest hearts, and they proved it in the best ways ever with the audience. The staff at the venue is awesome. They are all kind, and they almost always have smiles on their faces. The few times they did not smile were definitely not their faults, but even the frowns or looks of discontent didn't last but a fleeting moment. Definitely our favorite place to come for concerts.

    Not happy with seating.

by L14 on 12/17/19Choctaw Grand Theater - Durant

I purchased 12 tickets. Two rows with six seats in each row with an aisle splitting them. Well when we got there our seats were in the middle of all the seats and not like I purchased at all. I was not the only ones there that had issues with seating. But Charlie and TRAVIS and their bands were amazing!!!! I give them 5 stars!!!

Flashing the lights repeatedly on the audience makes a miserable experience.
