Based on the hit DreamWorks film and the incredible true story that inspired it, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN is the high-flying, splashy new Broadway musical that tells the story of Frank W. Abagnale, Jr., a teenager who runs away from home in search of the glamorous life. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer - living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. But when Frank's lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, Carl chases Frank to the end...and finds something he never expected. This delightfully entertaining musical has been created by a Tony Award®-winning "dream team," with a book by Terrence McNally (The Full Monty, Ragtime), a swinging score by Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman (Hairspray), choreography by Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray, Legally Blonde) and direction by Jack O'Brien (Hairspray, The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels).

I have been a performer for 20 years and have seen a range of theatre from community to Broadway! I was so excited to see this production because I had not seen a show in Chicago since I moved here two years ago. I paid nearly $200 for my two tickets and from the moment the curtain went up I was disappointed everywhere. The cast was hard to watch. The dancing was off and somewhat mundane, the singing from the leads were hard to listen to, audience members were leaving and the only reason I stayed was because as a performer myself I think its rude to leave early. I was EXTREMELY mad that I paid such a large amount of money for a product that was not even worth community theatre prices! I never review anything because I normally love everything but this was a major disappointing let down.
I never saw the movie, but had heard alot of good things about it. The musical was fabulous! A very talented cast. The music was upbeat!
Our family of four with two teenage boys loved this show. We see quite a bit of theater and our kids thought this was one of the most entertaining shows they've seen. The 3 male lead singers (Frank Jr., Frank Sr, FBI Agent) were fantastic. The show was fast moving, had great choreography, human interest, and lots of humor. An excellent choice.
