    Cat wasn't hot

by 4eyes2 on 3/22/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Thankfully Scarlett Johansson surrounded herself with great actors in the show. Her performance as Maggie was lukewarm at best. We expected her to be sexier and more sultry but instead she was rather flat and stiff. Brick, Big Momma and Big Daddy were phenomenal and carried the show.

    Very enjoyable night

by TomCT on 3/22/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Enjoyed the play although it was very long compared to other broadway shows. Scarlet Johansen was excellent. Only issue was with the sound a bit. Sometimes when actors were facing away it was difficult to hear them..

    Sucks.

by Anonymous on 3/20/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

This play was definitely NOT WORTH my one hundred dollars. It was awful! Uou could barely hear the dialogue. Jowever, i must say that Scarlett did an extraordinary kob aying her character. I had to keep studying her face to make sure it was still her. Her acting was phenomenal.

You come to see Scarlette and you end up watching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Actors are amazing! Do not take children to this play its not an easy task for them.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

by Shugarooney on 3/19/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

I thought Scarlett Johansson was fair to good and sometimes very good. Hard shoes to fill. Everyone remembers Elizabeth Taylor's great performance of Maggie. Ciarán Hinds was captivating. A joy to watch.

    Scarlott Carried the Load

by SocietyMax on 3/18/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

I was very impressed by how well Scarlott got into her role. In many ways, she was a more believable southern belle social climber (with a heart of gold) than was Elizabeth Taylor in the movie. However, Brick was unfortunately little more than masonry, easily overshadowed by just about everyone, especially Big Daddy. My guess is SJ will win her second Tony with this one, which in my opinion was a superior performance to her Tony-winning role in View From The Bridge.

A very enjoyable and thought provoking play. The characters were very real and the dialogue was true to life.

    Long, edgy, good acting

by dsmtonyc on 3/18/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

The acting for this was quite good, the characters were complex and most played their parts really well. it takes 3 hours so block out enough time. if you are in the balcony, the only restrooms are downstairs, so plan well. there is only one set but it was very details and intricate.

    Outstanding play

by Bretagne on 3/18/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

We went to see Scarlet Johansson but in fact not only she is great but the play is outstanding. I was afraid it would be a bit stilted, all style but the main theme, lying, family secrets etc.. is as modern as anything. Great cast, great play, a must see.

Cat w/ a newyork southern accent?

by reptilian on 3/18/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a well acted play with a beautiful set.... but the accents are way off. If you are from the south, they will really bother you. Benjamin Walker and Emily Bergl have excellent accents and the correct speach patterns but the rest of the cast did not. I am glad we saw the play. However if Sarlet Johansson, Ciaran Hinds and Debra Monk had a diction coach they need to hire a new one.

    The CAT roared

by waltz3 on 3/18/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Scarlett Johanssen and Ciaran Hinds offered untraditional but powerful performances ably supported by Deborah Monk. Scenery was true to the play and helped create the sense of place. 2 hours and 445 minutes seemed like an hour. Wish I could see it again.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

by 1NatureBoy on 3/17/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Scarlett Johansson was great in the role. She brought a sexiness and vitality that brought out the most in her character. The other characters were equally played out well. There were a few times the play moved at a slow pace, but made up for that lull in other areas.

Don't waste your time or money

by Kelly56 on 3/17/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Terrible rendition. Southern accents were strained and exagerrated. No energy with cast. Two intermissions fortunately. We left during second one.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof was HOT!

by JBake14 on 3/17/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

Scarlett Johanansson truly delivered her role southern with mixtures of charm, desparation, and respect. Benjamin Walker showed his diversity with a compelling difference from Andrew Jackson and his movie role of Lincoln, a vampire slayer. Outstanding performances by both. Exceptionally strong performances by Ciara'n Hinds and Debra Monk. As a person from the south, I repected their work to perfect the accents, draw, and vocal nuance. The set was breath taking.

    Hard to hear

by Ellison2 on 3/17/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

The presentation lighting and the overall visual presentation was outstanding. I felt like I was in the Deep South. However, it would have.been nice to hear what they were saying. Audio was horrible.

    Great play, hard to understand!

by moish on 3/16/13Richard Rodgers Theatre - New York

I just attended cat on a hot tin roof. I almost left after the first act since I could not understand Scarlett Johanson at all. Not good at the Southern accent. The next two acts were manageable since she was not heavily involved. More important to be understood than striving for Southern accent.
