Chamber pop luminary Andrew Bird is an unparalleled performer, keeping the craft of musicianship alive in an era of increasing audio automation with his virtuosic live performances. Bird becomes a veritable one-man orchestra at his live shows through the use of a loop pedal, layering his signature violin with whistling, xylophone, and heart-rending vocals to create a delicate, infinitely detailed world of emotional peaks and valleys. Fans of musical craftsmanship will worship Bird on his latest tour, where he'll continue to innovate with unique renditions of fan favorites like "Tenuousness" and "Oh No".
Chicago-born Andrew Bird began his musical training at age four, studying the Suzuki method during his youth and receiving a degree in violin performance from Northwestern University in 1996. He self-released his debut album that same year, foreshadowing the unique violin-based sound he would establish later in his career. In the late '90s he formed the group Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, releasing a string of albums with the band that included Thrills (1998) and The Swimming Hour (2001). Despite the project's critical success it failed to catch on with audiences, leading to the band's dissolution and Bird's reemergence as a solo artist in 2003. Recording and performing as a one man band with the aid of multitrack recorders and loop pedals, Bird found the success that had previously eluded him, stunning critics with 2005's Andrew Bird & the Mysterious Production of Eggs and topping the Independent Albums chart in 2009 with Noble Beast and in 2012 with Break It Yourself. Back on the road Bird will continue to inspire awe and admiration among fans with his endlessly creative live show.
