An American in Paris is a must see !!!

by Yukonsmom on 9/21/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

An American in Paris is a lovely play. The singing and dancing were excellent. I would recommend it highly. The only downside would be that if you know the movie and LOVE THE MOVIE, the play changed the storyline quite a bit. But other than that it was an enjoyable play.

Classical ballet meets amazing musical scores

by MoMo558 on 9/20/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

Loved this show. The only reason it was given 4 instead of 5 stars is because the ending, while lovely, was too predictable for me. That aside, the dancing and choreography was superb. Musical scores unlike anything you have heard in recent broadway shows. Solid broadway show that is reminiscent of old classic broadway musicals. From the extremely talented cast to the funny and romantic screenplay-you do not want to miss this love triangle.

    Great Play

by jamblam on 9/20/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

The play dance routines surprised me, I didn't expect to see them on point. The story line was great and the backdrops provided us with a glimpse of Paris. I recommend this play and am sorry it will be leaving us soon. Go While you can!

A great show for all ages!

by marsterj on 9/20/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

Went to see this show a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Using some songs from the film, it feels like an extension of the magic. While it is a great time out for all ages, it only drops 1 star for not being able to replace the magic of Gene Kelly. Fantastic dance numbers, worth a trip if you are a fan of the film!

    Very Entertaining

Great old music and plot, with lots of dance (a little too much dance for me, but some of it was so very well done). Very entertaining.

    a bit boring

by JoeC53 on 9/20/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

American In Paris is a classic love story.... first the good, the sets are very good, the songs are unforgettable, the dancing is great and the cast is all talented.. now the bad... remember the great dancing..... well there is just too much of it... Act 1 seems to drag,, ACT II had more character and plot development... so if you like the dancing you will find this terrific,,, if you want something more balanced, look elsewhere.

    Lovely and classic

by BirthdayGirl50 on 9/20/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

This was a wonderful show. I wanted to see it badly before it closed since I love the movie version. The dancing and singing were fantastic. The acting was solid with great comic timing. The costuming was also great. Beautiful gowns. The Palace Theater is a beautiful old building. Surprisingly the seats were fairly roomy and comfortable. However, there are lots of stairs and some places are hard to navigate. My companion and I both tripped getting out of our row.

    Beautiful Ballet Musical

by UCLA4me on 9/18/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

Wanted to see a classic musical and this was a terrific choice. Acting,m singing and dancing are all excellent, although I was uncomfortable with the lead actress channeling Leslie Caron and not being herself. Costumes and stage design were excellent. Smoking is unnecessary and does nothing to enhance the story.

Excellent show, a peak at Broadway past

by Jorgito2 on 9/18/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

We were charmed by this show, a true time travel back to Broadway's golden era. The music score of course is American classic, the dancing and stage are breathtaking, the digital effects right on point. However, the choreography is the star here, just amazing. The show is fun and captivating, highly recommended.
