The 90 7X barbecue was amazing!! Great music from every band. It was super hot out, but with the vendor booths and games I hardly noticed. The one thing I would improve is add food trucks! There are plenty of really good food trucks in the area but none were represented in this event and the food that was there was not so good.
Had a great day at the 97XBBQ. From the start to the end. The opening act was local to the Tampa area which was a great way to kick off the concert. Each act was just as good as the next. The VIP area was totally worth every penny! Getting the opportunity to have a shaded area, with waters available definitely made the hot day tolerable. The 97X staff were all friendly and very helpful throughout the event. Major props to the security, Police and EMS. They all worked their tails off to ensure everyone had a memorable time.
Honestly the line up could have been better but it all comes down to the group you go with. I went with people who don't mind the heat and are a bit on the crazy side, which made for an unforgettable day! I got every year and it's always fun! I definitely recommend it. P.s. Please don't come if you are like 13, it's not a place for preteens and lower.
And let's not forget Young the Giant! Had an awesome time listening to some of my most favorite bands! The park was a nice setting at well. Loved it! Awesome time!
Really enjoyed the music! Timeline was managed well. We purchased VIP tix: could've been more seating available, and a better sight line. Many fans in the tent didn't work and food service was S-L-O-W.
This concert gets better and better every year. The lineup is always fantastic and Vinoy is a great park. Until it's 95 degrees out. There's no shade to speak of and being by the water doesn't provide the breeze you'd think it would. We got tickets for the VIP section this year ($60) and it was way oversold and not what we were expecting. They advertised free food and drinks but the food was served at lunch and dinner and if you missed one (we came at three) then too bad. Drinks were just water and soda, no beer or alcohol. And the tent they had to the side of the stage was packed the the brim. Not even 100 seats for about 300 people. If they could shade the area better it would benefit this event tremendously.
The Wombats had some techinical difficulties so they had to cut their set in half. I really wanted to see them so that sucked. Even bands that didn't have technical difficulties didn't start on time. Usually 97X events run smoothly and on time so this was not normal. It also would have been nice if someone announced The Wombats were having issues prior to them coming on stage and announcing it themselves. Everyone in the crowd was wondering what was going on.
I only went to 97x to see nevershoutnever! They did great and I actually got to meet christofer drew. They're really nice and I had a lot of fun. Also, there was a photo booth that was really cool and most importantly, a monster give away thing! They were giving away monsters to everyone.They had w bunch of different flavor and u could drink as many as u wanted!
Super hot, but intend a great time. I definitely recommend buying VIP, it's worth it for the 2 meals and the shade.
