But she's also come out from behind the screen, allowing fans to see her IRL alongside her boyfriend, fellow online luminary Cody Orlove (aka "zoes boyfriend" on TikTok), with appearances on the 2019 Boys of Summer Tour.

Zoe Laverne is the quintessential Gen Z superstar. Born Zoe Laverne Pemberton in Greenwood, Indiana, in 2001, the social media celebrity has built up a massive online following with her sweet, silly and sincere videos posted on platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Zoe began growing her fan base on the now-defunct musical.ly, which merged with the video-sharing social networking service TikTok in August 2018. She was 15 when she first started posting videos, mostly of her doing makeup tutorials. Using the app was a welcome relief for the young teenager, who has said she was a victim of bullying at school. Making videos online was a way for her to show off her true self. As her following on musical.ly kept increasing, so did the bullying, forcing Zoe to eventually leave her public high school to be homeschooled. But it didn't once deter the small-screen star from sharing her life — and her loves — with her virtual fans. In 2018, she connected with fellow online personality Cody Orlove on musical.ly and Snapchat. The two developed a friendship and eventually began dating, with Cody in Chicago and Zoe in Indiana. They then broke up, and got back together again in Los Angeles as "Zody."
