Small production -- Vogel Hall was perfect for the intimate little play. The show was laughs from beginning to end. The comedy should be relate-able to just about any young to middle aged couple.

You Say Tomato- Good but pricey!

by Anonymous on 3/13/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

I felt the performance was clever and entertaining. However, I felt the cost of the ticket ($40) was too much for my experience. I would recommend this to a friend if the price was slightly lower.

Great venue for this theatrical performance. My husband I were so entertained we couldn't believe an hour and a half flew by and the plY was over. We give it a five star thumbs up!

    Hilarious

by Francon on 3/12/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

They exceeded my expectations! While I thought I may get a giggle or two, this production gave me great belly laughs! They go beyond the usual little idiosyncracies and push the envelope. We related to a lot of what they were saying and really enjoyed it.

    Disappointing

by Anonymous on 3/12/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

I found the show disappointing when compared to other shows I have attended. The performance was shorter than anticipated. Not a good value for the money spent to attend.

Funny and right to the heart of marriage!

by Reviewer2000 on 3/12/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

Saw this play at the early show at 5:00. Both actors did a good job of adding their own flair to the original material. Both actors provided laugs through the delivery of their lines as well as through body actions and facial expressions. I would recommend this play to married couples at any stage of their marriage.

Well, at least it was live theater...

by StephanyinIowa on 3/10/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

I love live theater, and love to support it whenever possible. That said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this event. It seemed contrived, a little self-absorbed and whiny (if I say a little too "east coast", does it make me insular?), and the casting was not the best. In fact, I wondered if they were doing a little gender bending with the dialogue, at first, because I couldn't understand the direction of the characters. Acting or direction? I'm not a professional, so I couldn't say. However, we did get the chance to laugh a little, and that is worth something. We'll be back, for another event.

    Enjoyable evening out

by grandedame on 3/10/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

Starts a little slow, but laughing out loud before too long. It was an enjoyable evening out with the hubby for "date night". The actors did a fantastic job, and were well cast for the roles of a couple celebrating their 10th anniversary, and reflecting on their shared (?) past. Each remembers events in their relationship differently, and therein lie the laughs.

You Say Tomato, I Say Go See It

by iadesigner on 3/9/12Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

This performance is intended for the seasoned married couple. We really enjoyed it since we fit that description. It's bold and abrasive at some moments - Not for those who can't handle an open discussion about marital sex. Not a first date outing.

I Say Tomato, You Say Shut up was hilarious.

by Asor on 2/13/12Smith Theatre - Buffalo

Unbelievably funny. Laughed from the start to the finish. How absolutely true and to the point. There could not have been anyone in the audience, that had ever been in any kind of relationship, that could not identify with the whole play. Totally enjoyed it and wished it could have gone on longer. Loved laughing at my life!

    The Laughing Did Not Stop!!!!!

    by LadyDiana22 on 2/7/12Smith Theatre - Buffalo

This play was one of the very best I've ever been to. My husband and I are Season Tickets holders at Shea's, so we see alot of venues. The entire room was laughing and relating to the couple at each step of this brilliant production. It was so nice to have a "date night" and laugh from start to finish and realize that we as a married couple are just like everyother married couple. It was hilarious to see how the husband and wife "remember" their years .... Yup.... Dead on! Kudos to You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up! LOVED IT!
