Yellowcard became one of the most successful alternative bands of the 2000s with its unique use of violin in their pop punk sound. The band released an acoustic reinterpretation of their seminal 2003 album Ocean Avenue in August 2013, completing a worldwide concert stretch with shows in Australia, Europe and the U.K. and is set to tour the U.S. in 2014. After putting out two albums in Florida, core members Ryan Key, Sean Mackin and Longineu W. Parsons relocated to Los Angeles in 2000 and released their third album One for the Kids in 2011, following it up with The Underdog EP in 2002. The band signed with Capitol Records that year and began recording their major-label debut, resulting in the release of their fourth album Ocean Avenue in July 2003, which peaked at No. 23 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and sold over two million copies with its hit single “Ocean Avenue.” Next up was 2006’s Lights and Sounds, as well as 2007’s Paper Walls, which debuted at No. 13 on the U.S. Billboard 200. They played for ticket holders in support of Blue October and Linkin Park that year, before announcing a hiatus that would span 2008 to 2010. They returned with When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes in March 2011 and played shows in Europe and the U.S. In 2012, Yellowcard joined the Vans Warped Tour and released their critically acclaimed eighth album Southern Air in August, debuting at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.
All the bands were amazing. They were all insanely talented and extremely nice to all of their fans!
The set was flawless. The venue is highly against dancing so the crowd energy is VERY DULL and the security were like pitbulls so you felt uncomfortable being yourself and just letting loose. Otherwise the sound quality was fantastic and the energy yc produced was incredible.
It was awesome. The venue was organized and the concert was pretty much right on schedule.
incredible sound quality, relentless energy, and great music. terrific show, and great to be able to hang out with them after. these guys rule...if you haven't seen them live yet, you're really missing out.
It was just flat out amazing show, love the intimacy of the Stone Pony. Yellowcard blew the roof off the place
The concert was amazing! You know, most concerts are amazing if you really like the band. But this was something more. The basics: the music was incredible, as it is. They interacted with the crowd well - especially Ryan Key and Sean Mackin, who always had a smile on his face. The 'something more': Yellowcard seriously took the crowd from extreme energy and happiness, to a period of - i dont know how to describe it. Think Empty Apartment, and Ryan's aunt. Very touching - how many concerts can bring you to tears? And then, back to another peak of 'Ocean Avenue' and the likes - full of energy and power. They mastered it, the crowd was in their hands, and we all left remembering what cannot be forgotten. Yellowcard will be attached to us for a long time.
this was my first concert and seriously im so happy that my first concert was a yellowcard one. Ive been a fan for years now but even if ur not a fan you will be rocking out ... and of course if they come back to my city im going to see them. again cuz their show was tht good :D
definitely the most intense concert i have ever attended. they're music was amazing, the venue was small and the concert was so much more amazing for it. the fans are hardcore. you could tell they really loved Yellocard and I DID TOO! amazing music! GO SEE THEM!
Yellowcard's performance at the Paradise Rock Club was a wonderful testimony to just how enduring these guys are. Getting back together, this band has picked right up where they left off...and they have only gotten BETTER!. New England (not just Boston) loves Yellowcard and it showed on OCt. 30. I drove from Maine to see them. They loved us and we loved them. This club show was the best $20 concert I have ever attended!
October 30th my best friend, Kathryn, and I went to the Paradise Rock Club to see Go Radio, Every Avenue, and Yellowcard. The show was absolutely amazing! It was the best show I have attended in a long time; it is definitely in my top five. That says a lot because I have attended over 150 concerts in the past two years. Go Radio was the first act. They came out dresses in Halloween costumes. I am not sure what they were supposed to be, but it was great. They looked so silly. It got the audience in the Halloween spirit. There were a few audience members already in the spirit dressed in costume. Jason Lancaster's, lead singer of Go Radio, voice is so beautiful. Every time that man opens his mouth and sings, I get chills. I have nothing but great things to say about this band. The entire band even stuck around to sign autographs and take pictures with fans during and after the concert. They are definitely doing things right! Every Avenue's lead singer, David Strauchman, was another person who “gave back” to his fans. He signed autographs and took pictures after the show. I absolutely love Every Avenue. Their lyrics, their sound, their image; it all works. However I was kind of disappointed in David Strauchman. He was acting like a sloppy drunk on stage which is so unprofessional! He was slurring his words and not focused on his vocals what so ever, but that didn't stop him from drinking (on stage none the less). I still love Every Avenue, but I am disappointed in their performance....well David Strauchman's performance. The last band that played was Yellowcard. I can't call myself a fan, but I do like all three of their songs on my ipod. Their hour set was kind of long just because I didn't know the lyrics to all over their songs, but the crowd went crazy for them. They are one of those bands that are absolutely happy to be where they care and be doing what they are doing. You can just see it when they are on stage. They are truly happy which can be heard as they sing. I was able to feel what they singing about. It's was very intimate. I wish I could have had a chance to meet them, but I know that's asking for a lot. It's very difficult to meet the headliners of a tour, but, all in all, I was very satisfied with the show. I am glad I attended :)
I'm not a huge yellowcard fan - I went with my friends who were really into them - but this was easily one the BEST shows I've been to. And I've been to a lot.
It was amazing. They were amazing. Unforgettable night.
Sold out is all that needs to be said. The energy all night was high and the show was amazing.
What an amazing show! High energy, great sound and they did all the favorites both new and old. Even some rarely played live stuff like October Nights! This was an energetic crowd and although it was a small venue, it was so personable and lively. The crowd sang along with every song and bounced to the beat. The band sounded amazing! And they even came out off of their tour bus after the show to greet fans that had been waiting in hopes of meeting them. And unforgettable night! I can't wait to see them again!
Made me laugh, cry, and sing my heart out. This band hasn't lost faith in itself or its fans since the very beginning, and they weren't afraid to give it their all.
the concert was amazing! these guys really know how to rock out. definitely one of the best concerts i've ever been to. they played a great mix of their new stuff with a few of their old stuff and they really know how to work the crowd really well. But i feel bad that ryan missed his aunt's funeral for this concert though
Yellowcard has this great stage presence and this true desire to incorporate the audience and their personalities into the show. I have always been a fan of Go Radio and as usual they rocked it as well. Every Avenue wasn't so great, it was very obvious how far gone the performers for EA were. They were high and drunk, which was funny but also a little concerning.
This show was amazing. Yellowcard has come back better than every. Their energy and fan interaction combined with some new music and lots of their old stuff made you wish the show would never end. Can't wait till the next time they are back.
Amazing concert. Yellowcard is making a great come back. Plus THEY PLAYED OCTOBER NIGHTS from One for the Kids
Yellowcard is by far my favorite band to see in concert!!! I have been following them for over 10 years and they are always getting better!!! Some of the best nights of my life! <3
