About

YEASAYER IN CONCERT:

The members of psychedelic rock group Yeasayer have been defying the mainstream with their experimental synths, unique three-part harmonies, and melodic sound since making their debut in 2006 with All Hour Cymbals. The band's passion radiates through the crowd as they play fan favorites like "Ambling Alp" and "O.N.E." with a fervor that can't be matched. Their sonically innovative, hook-filled tracks are layered with detail, and they truly come alive for fans at the band’s intense live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Brooklyn-based act Yeasayer started performing together in 2006 and began earning serious attention a year later when they made their first festival appearance at SXSW. They made their full-length album debut in 2007 with All Hour Cymbals, which received rave reviews from publications like Pitchfork and Entertainment Weekly for its genre-bending sound and led to opening spots on tours with Beck and MGMT. The band continued their success with 2010's Odd Blood -- a record that peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and included several songs that were featured on popular TV shows. Their 2012 album Fragrant World led to a number of sold-out headlining dates, high-profile festival appearances, and late night talk show performances, and they continued to earn hundreds of thousands of fans along the way. With their continually evolving sound and impressive showmanship, Yeasayer amazes concertgoers with their dance-worthy collection whenever they take the stage.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This was my first time watching Yeasayer live and they didn't disappoint! They had a good mix of upbeat/chill songs and played the favorites. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but their mix of styles translates well in a live setting."

"Yeasayer sounded just as great live as they do on their records. The energy in the room was infectious, and I'd definitely see them again when they come through town."

"It was a great show, Yeasayer especially - great music always, but in concert they are truly spectacular. Beautiful stage set and light show, but it always felt like a complement to the music. the new drummer (standing up the entire set) is awesome too!"

    So Great!

by Ezll on 4/25/10Bluebird Theater - Denver

I was wary about seeing yeasayer live - not sure how they would capture all the sound in their albums on stage - but to my pleasant surprise they did. They totally rocked out and put on a dance-party worthy show.

Quite possibly the best show of the year

by Shebarehands on 4/22/10Wonder Ballroom - Portland

Living in Portland, OR, I see a lot of shows (once a week at least) and while most are incredible, none touched on the fury that these guys laid down. I danced so hard I couldn't speak the next day. Easily contender for top 5 shows of my LIFETIME. I hoped they enjoyed the crowd (with the exception that one person that grabbed at Chris Keating's crotch) as much as the were enjoyed, and come back soon (but not to the Crystal Ballroom - the other Ballroom venue in town, yuck!)

AMAZING! The concert was full of dancing, good energy, and the songs I was yearning to hear live. Can't wait for Yeasayer to come through again!

Yeasayer pumped energy into the place. By the end of the show there wasn't a single person in the building standing still. With a combination of psychedelic lighting and a set that just gained steam as the night progressed (no pun intended even though the Wonder eventually felt like a sauna), it felt like the roof might blow off by the end of the show. Truly a great time!

Yeasayer fell short of their two previous shows in Portland.

Sleigh Bells and Yeasayer are two great bands to see. There's not a whole lot else to say. They both put on a great show, very lively and dancey. Good stuff.

The band was even better live than on the cd, something that some bands fail to do.

    Yeasayer is unforgettable live

by JoshoJackson on 4/14/10House of Blues Houston - Houston

I love both of their albums. But they just don't compare to what they bring to the table in a live setting. Please see these guys LIVE.

    Yeasayer=awesome

by Anonymous on 4/14/10House of Blues Houston - Houston

Yeasayer was by far one of the best shows I have ever been to. They were full of energy and it projected to the crowd. Every single person at the show ( including the band) was at least shaking a hip. Their vocals alone were worth going and it was just an awesome time.

A total dancey, dance, fun, electric vibe. I dig the albums, but when you see this band on stage, they come to life.

    Yeasayer are masters

by kobemcballerton on 4/12/10House of Blues Houston - Houston

An incredibly good live show. Their live music is actually better than their studio music. They made even their weird songs sound good. Lots of energy, just an overall great show. Awesome opening artist, too, in Javelin.

    Great show!!!

by Anonymous on 4/10/10House of Blues Houston - Houston

This show was great! House of Blues blows away its nearest competition in town Warehouse Live. The bass in HOB is awesome and the atmosphere is much better. I'm not a big fan of electronica, but I really liked seeing these guys! This was on your feet beats and bass the whole show. No mellow acoustic stuff, but just great fun. The crowd seemed to be all around college aged.

Yes! Yeasayer was pretty amazing. My complaint is that the show started 1.5 hours late with a terrible opener. I understand concerts don't usually start on time, but COME ON. I drove from Macon and my friends drove from Athens. It was a little inconvenient fighting through rush-hour traffic just to wait for about an hour for the opening act to begin.

    Yeasayer @ the Masquerade

by tlutherful on 4/7/10Masquerade - Atlanta

Yeasayer put on an amazing performance! I was a little thrown of at first when they opened in a very Shpongle - like wave, but warmed up immediately after O.N.E was played. Chris Keating looked amazing and his presence electirifed the house.

    Yeah for Yeasayer

by Nenders on 4/7/10Masquerade - Atlanta

Show was an amazing experience. Yeasayer played every song you would have wanted to hear while the entire crowd was singing and dancing right along with them. You could just tell that the band was having a fun time during their performance. Bravo Yeasayer!

Yeasayer has great stage presence and they involve the crowd in their shows, which I love! They have great energy and sound good live and I would absolutely see them again!! I noticed they draw a mixed crowd... seems like there were indie kids who enjoyed their second album and the DMB crowd was there to hear their first album. Turned out to be a good mix, though.
