I love Ximena's music; as a matter of fact, my English-speaking, American boyfriend introduced me to her music back in 2008 when she released her first album. I fell in love with her music almost instantly. When I learned she was coming to Columbus (apparently it was her third visit to my city), I didn't hesitate and purchased tickets for the both of us. Honestly, neither of us liked her second album but we still wanted to go see her performing live. Her music sounded a lot better in person (and that's saying a lot about the way she sounded that night, considering that The Basement has really crappy acoustic). The only one thing I felt really disappointed about was the length of the show: 55 minutes. I understand we were a small crowd, but a paying and loyal crowd nonetheless. She skipped one song from the original playlist they intended to play that night (I found that out when I asked the guy who was tearing down the set up to give me the playlist left underneath the drums). I really couldn't believe it. She never came back to the stage even though the audience cheered (in Spanish) and asked for an encore. Who does that? I mean, 99% of artists usually have at least 2-3 songs up their sleeves to play as the encore. It wasn't that she didn't have any; I felt she just didn't care about the audience or about playing any longer for only the 40-50 people we were there for her that night.
