Xavier Omar In Concert
San Antonio's Xavier Omär resists being constrained by labels and has proved to be one of the most versatile new voices out there. He boasts a sweet croon that can anchor hip-hop tracks like his collaborations with Seattle MC Sango as stunningly as it can float above wispy trap beats like the ones on his 2017 EP ‘Pink Lightning.'
Omär began his career in 2012 under the name SPZRKT (pronounced "Spazzy Rocket"), collaborating with Sango and other artists operating at the cutting edge of urban music, like the MC Noname and the rapper Mick Jenkins.
In 2016, he ditched the pseudonym and started releasing music as Xavier Omär. That year's EP ‘The Everlasting Wave' was a wild introduction to his kaleidoscopic musical vision, featuring the crisp, brassy "Special Eyes" alongside the swirling "Speculate" and the downcast "Do Not Disturb."
That EP established Omär as someone with a boatload of talent and few constraints. In 2018, Omär focused mostly on releasing collaborations, including the plush reunion with Sango "Sweet Holy Honey" and the dramatic duet with soul singer Anna Wise "Easy" (the latter was featured on the soundtrack to season three of HBO's acclaimed Issa Rae showcase Insecure).
Omär has toured relentlessly as he works on new music. In early 2019, he hit the road with kindred spirit NAO. His phrasing and range have inspired comparisons to Miguel and Ty Dolla $ign, but his artistic vision is all his own; he delights in resisting categorization. "As much as you can put me... in a sentence with H.E.R. or Daniel Caesar, you can also put me in a sentence with Khalid or Billie Eilish," Omär said in a 2018 interview. "At times people don't know what to do with it, but at the end of the day, it's good music — if you listen."
This event was my third time seeing Xavier Omar. but first time in San Diego. the crowd was a HUGE disappointment compared to LA shows. unfortunately ive seen better shows from him but im still a huge fan regardless and will support him.
I took my best friend as part of her birthday celebration and it was very nice. Good atmosphere.
Loved how he incorporated his band on stage and interacted with the audience. Would definitely see him again.
His talent, message, stage presence, band, etc were all amazing! Next time he’s in my city I’m definitely gonna see him
This show was unique in the way that Xavier and his crew threw in some fun surprises for the show. He never fails to do a great show, I went to the show two years ago at the same venue and it was amazing. I also appreciated his insight into the spiritual world and his message. Always a pleasure.
I loved everything about the show. The opener Elhae was amazing! Xavier Omar had a awesome performance and crowd participation was crazy. He had a Boston artist perform with him, which I thought was extra dope. I really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere of the venue. Overall Great Vibe and Show!!
Simply put: You felt the love in the room. Xavier and Kyle showed NYC nothing but love during their show. They actually sound BETTER than the album. Incredibly charismatic performances and showmanship by the whole crew. While I want to see them sell out venues, I’m blessed to have seen them in a small somewhat intimate setting.
Wow!!! This show was so incredible. You could feel the love in the air. His voice was so soothing and romantic at the same time. His hits will last for decades. Also his voice is amazing live🥰
Came across him a few months ago w/ his song ‘Stuck With You’. I am not an R&B regular-listener but XO blew me away with his voice and his lyrics which were intentional/meaningful. Therefore, when I learned he was going to be in concert in my hometown, there was no question as to “go or not”... I was there for it and I fell in love. Definitively a great evening, his voice is beautiful live and his presentation (along w/ his band) was def entertaining.

I had a great time. Beautiful show from start to finish. Xavier definitely sang and is a comedian, as well as had great crowd engagement. He sounds amazing live and his band is awesome! If you get a chance, attend his concert!! I sure will
The venue was appropriately sized. Opening act, Kyle Dion, set the mood and made a presence on stage reminding me of icons like Prince & MJ. By the time Xavier got to the stage I was ready! His vocals are heart warm and alluring, the band complemented him nicely. It was a complete vibe!
This performance was truly an experience. Xavier Omar did an amazing job of relating to his crowd and incorporating his band and even another artist, it was incredible! It felt so intimate and provided a great feeling of unity and inclusivity. Both Kyle Dion and Xavier Omar are some of the most talented individuals on the planet! Their passion was so real, all around amazing experience!
I loved it! I love his music and I feel like is a great performer!!! Plus I haven’t been out in a while ( first time mom :) ) so it was such a pleasure for me. The location was great no issues getting in or out loved the entire experience.
Xay was AWESOME as always! Blessed to be in the building and share his energy! Can’t wait to see him again
