The space is wonderful. The sound was great! Getting to see one of my favourite bands live was just wonderful! I wish the stage was bigger but it was a blast non the less!

I flew from SF with my girlfriend and it was so worth it. I dreamed about seeing X-Japan live and never though I would. They gave us a fantastic 3 hours show with fireworks, a touch of craziness and beautiful music. I would definitely go and see them again!

X Japan is the band that taught me when I found them 14 years ago that Japanese musicians can have energy, life, and a fantastic human quality to their playing. Perfect without ever being robotic. The composing is beautiful and every member is talented with an apparent love of music. Seeing this band live was something I never thought I would experience, and now I have, it was a dream come true for me as it was for many others. I still find myself more drawn to their old songs rather than new, but like always the songs grow on me over time. I enjoy that. I heard that Sugizo had a new guitar made recently to better match the 90's sound of X Japan, it was noticeable in this concert and I thought it sounded great! His violin playing is a favorite of mine and I'm dying to hear more of it. Toshi's voice was incredible, Heath's bass, Pata's guitar, Yoshiki's drums and piano - every single member is incredible and they were all showcased well. I loved that a string quartet (I think? I couldn't see how many) joined the stage for Forever Love, nothing beats that combination with guitars. That's one step closer to my desire to see a band play along with a live orchestra (which X Japan has also done, in the past). My only complaint is that some things were much too elongated and likely confusing to newcomers in the American audience here, such as the extensive "We are X!" cries. I don't have a problem with it, but I felt a lot of people there just wanted to listen to the music and weren't ready to get all pumped. The audience looked pretty still, even on the floor, the latter of which surprised me. I, myself, am quite stiff and "shy" about being energetic around other people, and that made me feel guilty because I really wanted to show my support! My friend who joined me was the same. He loved the concert even though he didn't expect himself to be much a fan of their songs before coming. I think some people also feel embarrassed by the emotional play by this band, but I would doubt they particularly dislike it, and are rather not used to it. Regarding my Favorite moment - I felt very left out because I did not get one of the bracelets, I do not know where they were given out. But at that time, everyone stood up and watched in awe, it was very beautiful. You could say it was just a little additional effect, but with the wristbands lighting up to the music, everyone felt like they were part of the show even more. Overall, this band plays tremendously live and it is such an enjoyable experience.

First time to watch their show after being their fans for the last 12 years. It was a great experience. They finally made it to America after all these years! I am sure Hide and Taiji will be glad.

This show was nothing short of magical. I've seen X Japan before, but never with the full on stage show. Every second was amazing. If you ever get a chance, go see X Japan. You will not regret it.

    X Japan @MSG

by Ryousuke on 10/14/14Madison Square Garden - New York

This was an incredible show to be at. Being that this was the first concert of my entire life, it was a great experience. X Japan played really well that night and I loved how they used the moving stages and pyrotechnics. The sound was really good and the audience was great. The atmosphere was really good to be in. It was very energetic at the beginning and the ballads and solos were more on the softer side to further the concert.

    The Show of a Lifetime

by randombside on 10/14/14Madison Square Garden - New York

Been waiting 20 years to see X Japan play and it was worth it. The showmanship they bring to the stage is absolutely amazing. Its more than just the massive firepower they open the show with.. or the wristbands they gave everyone that were linked to Yoshiki's drum kit for one of his solos.. or how they announced a new album and not only played material from it but taught the choruses to the crowd so they could sing along to songs they were hearing for the first time.. or the personal touch of Yoshiki and Toshi talking to the crowd about how much it meant to them to finally play Madison Square Garden.... it was how all of it combined to make the best show ever.

    X Japan, an unforgettable experience!

by AnnetteMeghan on 10/14/14Madison Square Garden - New York

X was amazing! Ever since I discovered them back in 99 I had always wanted to see them live and my wish came true! I will never forget it for as long as I live. I can't wait for their world tour! The only complaint I have would be that the MSG staff was clearly not prepared for the fan girls. I even heard one say that if people kept pushing they would tear up the ticket and they wouldn't get in at all. There was a language barrier and they failed to acknowledge that. But X Japan was perfect in their performance!

Waited 15 years to watch X-Japan live!

by Tsui on 10/14/14Madison Square Garden - New York

The performance was full of energy, friendship, emotions. Things that you barely see in other concerts. There were few very touching moments. But overall, if you're a rock fan, you simply can't miss X-Japan, it's a must watch event at least once in a life time.

X Japan ruled. Phone toting crowd was not.

by Arkhan on 10/14/14Madison Square Garden - New York

Aside from the fact that they didn't play: Weekend, Blue Blood, Standing Sex, Orgasm, Sadistic Desire.... it was awesome. There were sparks, flames, explosions, solos, screaming, flailing, ballads, crowd interaction.... it was badass. The worst part was having to deal with idiots in the crowd holding up their phones to record the show. Just buy the DVD. Get your iPhones out of the way so we can all rock out properly.

Infinite Stars (5 does not cut it)

by Yukina on 10/14/14Madison Square Garden - New York

One cannot begin to describe the life-altering experience that is X JAPAN at Madison Sqaure Garden. There are no words, only emotions. You can feel the dreams of thousands of fans coming true, as well as the band's. We received the Tokyo Dome experience here in NYC, and it was spectacular. The guitar vs. bass battle between Pata and Heath was sexy. Yes, sexy! Sugizo's hands fluttered like dark butterflies as they caressed his violin. ToshI sparkled on stage as well as our eyes and ears with his voice, screams and all. Finally, Yoshiki, the god of rock to us (the fans) ... his presence provided all of us with so much grace and passion. He tugged at our heart strings with his emotional message, asking us "Where is Taiji? Where is hide?" The fallen, yet perpetual, members were very much present among the band, as we cheered for them as loud as humanly possible. It was a dream-come-true for them as well. For all of us. And it is an experience I will forever remember, and forever love.
