Great show seats too tight but still worked out next time wanna sit closer
Highly disappointed with WWE. It reminds me why I stopped attending their shows. It seemed like every match moved very slow and lots of downtime in each match. I expected the card to deliver better than they did. It was very lackluster and predictable.
Honestly , Ford field is the perfect place for a show like SummerSlam. It was a good time I had lots of fun. The WWE superstars always bring when they perform and summerslam was no exception . Ford field should be the spot for concerts and events like Summerslam or wrestlemania . Because LCA sucks!
This was absolutely amazing! I brought my entire family and we ALL had a blast!!! I highly recommend for anyone wanting a good time to enjoy a WWE Event!!!
Had to be patient getting on to summer slam ( 59,000 people ) staff was overwhelmed a bit, but all went well as time passed and people were checked into the building
This was my son's first Summer slam and he loved it all and it was my second, last one was 1995 in Pittsburgh. Over all was a great event and will go again.
Paid over $300 for floor seats for my 9 year Olds first live event and had to switch 2 matches in because we couldn't see the ring. After the second match and being sent to 5 different booths we were finally able to downgrade our seats to a back corner parallel to the black curtain. Drove 8 hours to the event only to go from being 100' away from the ring to 1000' away. Matches were great but watched most of it from the jumbo-tron that faced opposite of the ring. They should've disclosed the fact that floor seating had no tier and kids will not have a view.
I have been a WWE fan since I was 5 years old. When i found out about it possibly being held in Detroit, I had to be there.
Ford Field is a beautiful venue. Very easy to get in and out of the building. Great show by WWE
We spent the day in Detroit and Summer Slam was the low point of the day for us unfortunately! We sat in section 237 and there was a very bright light shining in our faces for the whole show (to the point where our section was cheering and booing when it turned on and off). Also, I don't think the WWE was very thoughtful with the big screen - to utilize it to show entrances or project the matches. Overall, I was very disappointed for the price we paid and we actually ended up leaving during the womens championship match.
Show quality was there but the matches sucked. No surprises. Overall a bummer…
We had a great time! The only down side was, we couldn't see the wrestlers come out because they had the stage set to low.
I bought floor seats thinking they would make me feel closer to the action. The truth is, I felt further than ever before. I was unable to see any of the wrestlers' entrances (they also aren't shown on the screen), and whenever any of the action happened I had to stand up as tall as I could to see anything happening in the ring. Anything outside of the ring, I had to watch the screen for. Also, the seats were very close together, and at these kinds of events there are usually a lot of big guys sitting next to you. Another thing, when you're there live you get no commentary, and you also miss out on the wrestlers' microphones. If you're going to one of these events, you want to get the first row or two. Otherwise, if you want to know what's happening at all, Id just catch it on your TV. One thing I'll say, the pre-show festivities were pretty decent. They had some booths with games/photo ops outside. And coming and seeing how many other people share the same fandom as you is pretty cool.
We are still in awe with our live experience at summerslam!
The setup looked really good and the matches were alright…..we’ll except for one (Shayna versus Ronda) and I would’ve liked it if they would’ve added a stipulation to the Cody Brock match like a three stages of hell match. I sat on the floor and people’s heads got in the way half of the time so I had to constantly look up right at the big screen and that got really annoying, like when Finn Bálor did the Coop Degraw right when he was about to hit it some dude two rows in front of me stood up in front of me and I missed his finisher and had to look at the screen. Unless I’m really really close to the ring or the entrance ramp I am never purchasing floor seats ever again. But overall other than those inconveniences i’m so glad that I went to summerslam it was my first pay-per-view event and I can’t wait for the next event to be held there. hopefully the royal rumble or another wrestlemania.
Attended summerslam 2 years in a row. 1st in Nashville last year and then this year in detroit. Both were great shows but something about Detroit that made this show epic! Great job WWE!
My seats were great. Summerslam was one of the greatest events that I have ever attended.
It's was awesome considering it's was 30 years since WWE had an event here in Michigan and in Detroit. Wrestlemain was at Ford field in 2003 way too long ago.
parking was a nightmare, the lines were terrible, we got in about 45 minutes after they opened the doors.. I had fun at Summerslam was a bit overpriced for drinks and food. The merchandise was reasonably priced. It was a very expensive trip. Yet I’m glad I went and was a part of history along with the other 60,000!
I've been going to shows for over 25 years and this was by far the best I've been to, Ford field was a great venue and I hope they do more shows there.
