this was the first rodeo for me and my family. what a burst of energy. I will go again and again.
This was geat family entertainment. There were parts of the rodeo targeted to each member of the family.
The Worlds Toughest Rodeo was well done on every level. The announcer was great and kept the energy high and very interesting. All the seats provided a great view of the Rodeo action. The bareback and saddle bronc section was very long, but in a good way because it was VERY entertaining. The bucking bull section seemed too short and since that was the "main event" it was a little disappointing. I wish they had done multiple bull rides to give more of a show. The entertainment events (muttenbusters, ladies barrel racing, and Charro) were all very good, though the ladies should have had another run at the barrel racing. Overall we had a great night! $18 seats were just fine! The RBC Center, as always, put on a great event.
The rodeo itself was great, but the much-advertised concert by Randy Houser afterward was kind of a bust.
We drank, we cheered, we conquered! Unforgettable!
Watching the actual riders was amazing and the opening introductions with the fireworks was impressive. However, I was disappointed that there wasn't a bigger celebration for the winner at the end. It ended so quickly after the last rider that I wasn't even sure who took first place. Also, we chose to attend the event on Saturday rather than Friday because of the music after the show, but the sound was so bad that we ended up leaving before it was over.
It was a lot of fun!! There were quite a few food/drink options. The music at the end could have been better and not quite as loud. Overall it was a great time!
First time I've been to a rodeo at the excel, we had a wonderful time my children enjoyed it and so did we. Nice varity of events, the horse trainer Tommy Turvy was excellent and fun to watch, the ladies barrel racing was awesome and of coarse the bronc riding and bull riding was awesome as well. I purchased my tickets thru ticket master and would have liked to known it was a two day event and I bought my parking pass on line as well, glad I brought the receipt I printed fro that because I didn't have the ticket from will call prior to parking but it all worked out.
The rodeo was very good. Great live stock. Great riders. We were a little disappointed that there was no roping or steer wrestling but that's ok. I will say that the concert on saturday nite was the worst i have ever been at. I like the artist and was looking forward to seeing him perform but i have never attended a concert that it was so loud that it was just total distortion and very painful to the ears. i am a musician and have played in bands for 30 years so i do enjoy loud music but that was so bad that the friends i took there and i sat through half of his first song and we left. no way could i sit through that. Looked to me that when we were leaving most everyone else was leaving too. so i guess what does that say?
the concert in the dirt was not very good. There was nothing that told us we needed dirt passes and from our seats it was not worth the money. The concert is half the reason we choice to go
It wasn't as entertaining as I'd hoped it would be. I remember going to a big rodeo when I was younger and there was much more excitement. The 'in-between' shows were good and the ending was just a little strange, because it was all of a sudden just over.
First, the rodeo aspects of WTR are fun to watch. The theater was enjoyable and it is clear WTR is trying to wrap a show around rodeo skills. There was a major breakdown however. The humor was crude, political and inappropriate. Comparing health reform to horse manure is inexcusable. I wonder how many real cowboys working at minimum wage without healthcare would be positively impacted by healthcare reform. Political characterizations of this nature have no place in a show of this nature. They are better left to Sunday morning pundits. I was compelled to leave I was so offended.
Pace was good, there were no down times and they kept everyone entertained. Very good show and worth the price.
The event itself was AWESOME! We have gone for the last 4 years and the show that was put on was beyond expectations! Cannot say enough about the show! Our seats (six of us went) were not though! We paid premium to be close to the action only to have a security guard and people getting floor passes obstructing our view. We requested that they get a chair & sit but it was against their rules. Word from the wise - do not sit in the lower seats of 115 for the rodeo - you will not be able to see due to rude security!!!!!
It was slow getting started by almost 30 minutes, not that much happened, the whole thing probably would have been less than an hour if they didn't drag it out and waste so much time. They put an underbelt on the animals which is what makes them kick and try to get it off and buck, there just happens to be a person on top at the same time. Try to get seats close to the chutes because that's where the majority of the stuff happens, I felt bad for people on the other end, they were hardly involved in anything. We took our daughter who loved it, it was good entertainment for an evening. Friday night definitely felt like the warm up for the "real show" on Saturday though.
It was ok, just not as good as the past few years. We didn't have programs this year nor did they have calf roping. The clowns are not as entertaining as they used to be either. If the prices are going to stay the same or go up I don't see why the rodeo has to be less. All in all it was good, but not great.
Jan 29th and 30th shows in St. Paul were the first of only 4 shows. Last year had many more stops and was SPIKE tv's World's Toughest Cowboy reality show competition. Last year and previous years were outstanding, and this years was just mediocre. There wasn't even a program, just a sheet of paper that they charged $1.00 for! Lame.
Still entertaining as always; what really put it over the top was Randy Hauser's concetr afterward! Wish they had programs like in the past. Fun to read about the various cowboys, even if they charged 2 bucks, I'd buy one. Overall, not as much hype as when it was on Spike Tv
We thought it was a great night. The cowboys were all great.
