2012 World Choir Games Closing Ceremony
by Anonymous on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - CincinnatiI understand that the Games wanted a large venue, but this basketball arena was a horrible place to hold this event. The sound quality was worse than horrible. There was so much echo in the building that speakers were barely understandable. Sound for the musical sections was only marginally better. The first portion of the program should have been much shorter. The speech from the Mayor of Cincinnati was typical political rubbish that did not even belong in this event. The pomp and circumstance was OK, but too long. It would have been nice to have a portion of the event dedicated to singing by all of the participating choirs - together on one or two numbers that they all learned. Instead, we heard from just a few. Music from the Cincinnati Pops was good, but the venue ruined it. I could have done without the opera solos.
