    Sadly, not magical

by MK on 4/30/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The event was not well organized. A few table games were set out in a small area without instruction. The "chill area"was outside of the room by two bars. There were a few themed drinks to choose from but food available was popcorn and nachos. There was one booth for purchases that carried "Wizard Fest"merchandise. Trivia and costume contests were unorganized and without a real winner or prize. I would not pay to go again.

    Disappointed

by Chris on 4/30/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Unfortunately this event was highly disappointing. Basically a cheap rave. The games and “photo opportunities” had definitely seen better days. I did see some amazing costumes from some of the attendees though. However those were not enough to justify the cost.

    Good time!

by Moaning Myrtle on 4/30/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Had a good time there! The costume contest took a long time, there has to be a faster way. I think this event was so fun! Needs tables and chairs for folks with back problems or who just want to sit around the dance floor for a second between activities. Themed drinks, trivia was a good challenge. Great night out for a great price!

If I could give zero stars I would

by DS on 4/30/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

For a family event, it was wildly inappropriate, so much cussing, talking about smoking weed, and just general inappropriate “jokes”. If you are expecting a fun filled wizard event just have a party at home. The trivia was awful and it took them almost an hour to do round one of it, the lack of “wizard” festivities was dismal. We left early, wish I would’ve saved my money.

    Horrible 0/10 would not recommend

by Emmee on 4/30/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

It was definitely not all ages appropriate. The drinks were almost $20 and I didn't even finish it because it did not taste good. The swearing a d commentary by the hosts were at times wildly inappropriate. More like a bad rave honestly!

    Underwhelming

by Crystal on 4/30/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The cardboard cutout displays of Harry Potter characters were beat up, creased, obviously very old and worn out. “Quidditch” beer pong table (just normal beer pong with some hoops on the table) and wizards chess set were right in the middle of a busy dance floor which made it hard to play either one of them. The dance floor was the main attraction, it seemed no different than being at a dance club, but the music was outdated. The guys with the microphones hosting the event didn’t seem to really even be fans of HP, they mispronounced spells and asked people if they were “sophomores or seniors” at hogwarts instead of asking if they were 6th year or 7th year. The costume contest was lame and had no lighting - we literally couldn’t even see the people competing. Each contestant had to do a “fashion show walk” across the dance floor and the DJ kept missing his cue to play music when they started walking. It was seriously so dark in there and the stage lights behind them were like backlighting so all we really got to see were the contestant’s silhouettes. Just overall an underwhelming experience with $18 small drinks.

    Far from reality

by Anyela on 4/30/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

An event where the only interesting thing was the entertainers (people) ... The improvised decoration... The super expensive drinks... I lost my money!!

    Underwhelming

by CynicalSpartan on 4/29/24Mercury Ballroom - Louisville

I'm not sure what we expected going into Wizard Fest but needless to say we were pretty underwhelmed and disappointed. Maybe at other venues it is more lively with more things to do but for this location (Mercury Ballroom, Louisville, KY) it was basically a bar where you can get HP inspired drinks like Butterbeer which was great and then they had maybe 5 booths for you buy to some nicknacks, some games like Chess and few places to take some pictures at that was it. Throughout the night you have a host doing a sorting hat skit and trivia. There was just not enough to do. Given, it was only $20 which is pretty low on the spectrum for an event. Had this been $50 for the same thing I would have been pretty outraged. For the "right person"this event is probably the highlight of their year but it was just a blip for me and my two other friends who joined me.

    Felt like a birthday party

by Ape on 4/29/24Mercury Ballroom - Louisville

Great MC, awful sound people, not enough vendors. Felt like someone's birthday party with dollar tree decor lol

A fun experience with other Harry Potter fans

    by Prof McGonagall on 8/2/23

Good fun and fun with people dressed as characters from the Harry Potter series.
