About

The lanky hip hop maestro Wiz Khalifa achieved super stardom when "Black and Yellow", an ode to his car's unusual paint job from his third studio album Rolling Papers, rode to the #1 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The triple platinum selling single would help earn Wiz Khalifa, born Cameron Thomaz in Minot, ND,  Best New Artist at the 2011 BET Awards. But the rapper, who developed his smooth flow yet aggressive stance on mixtapes while still in high school, quickly proved that there was nothing fluky about his hard-earned success. His 2012 follow-up O.N.I.F.C. debuted at #2 on the top 200 and #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop charts and produced the platinum selling single "Work Hard, Play Hard." It also demonstrated that mainstream acceptance had done nothing to soften him. With a style that seamlessly combines West Coast, East Coast, and Southern influences into a sound that feels entirely reflective of the Pittsburgh scene he has come to embody, Khalifa has proved to be an ideal collaborator for the likes of Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Kelly Rowland. Miley Cyrus, and Adele. He thrives in all of these settings, thanks to the same braggadocio and easy charisma that has made his concerts, with frequent tour mates A$AP Rocky and B.o.B., must-see events even for the most casual hip hop fans.

    Wiz was amazing!

    by johnnyk02 on 11/8/10Masquerade - Atlanta

a group that i have never heard of went on first, and they were ok. i was never a big fan of yelawolf but after his performance on saturday i have come to enjoy his style and music more. AND WIZ WAS AWESOME! from the time he came out on stage, there was soo much energy in the building. the heaven level in the masquerade in atlanta was a great venue because it contained all the weed smoke, and allowed room for an incredible performance. the place was the most packed i have ever seen heaven and i loved every minute of his performance.

this was the 2nd show of his that i've seen. it was poppin! he did all his kush & oj songs minus 1 or 2. he did a lot of old school tracks too. biggest tracks were Mesmorized, Black and Yellow, and In The Cut. Yelawolf was legit too. Mixin up the Medicine and Trunk Music.

I liked the songs he sang buit he could have done a lot more. Overall the concert was average. He played for only 45 minutes and had us waiting for almost 4 hours. Guess thats what happens when you wanna see somebody these days.

    Wiz Khalifa was amazing!

by runnerhmh on 11/8/10Masquerade - Atlanta

Overall, the event was very amazing, but the only problem that I had was with that of how large the crowd was. People were rude and people shoved.

Wiz was great! Masquerade is not

by AuBreezy on 11/8/10Masquerade - Atlanta

Needless to say, WIz Khalifa was amazing and unforgettable. Unfortunately, the masquerade was horrible. I looked up reviews on the venue itself and read it was hot and cramped, so it was expected. But seriously, as many tickets as they sold, and SOLD OUT, i think they should've upgraded to somewhere like Center Stage or something. Wiz deserves better, especially coming from a tour. Yelawolf and Hollyweerd were unforgettable too. Oh yeah, the ground almost broke through.

    Pretty sick concert

by EmceeCommon on 11/7/10Firestone Live - Orlando

The venue was rather packed, the security guards were completely out of control, smoke filled the place, you could hardly breathe. Wiz was good, Yelawulf was ehhh alright I guess, Firestone really sucked though.

    khalifa killt

by blazedd on 11/7/10Firestone Live - Orlando

Wiz khalifa tore the stage on November 4th. His performance was hype, he engaged the crowd like no other and performed his butt off. For him to smoke as much as he does he surely was flying around that stage. Taylor gang repped hard. It was a serious party in Club Firestone. Oh and Yelawolf did his thang. Jumped in the crowd and his performance sounded just like his songs. Overall beast of a show. Taylor gang over everythangg.

    Wiz was awesome! Okkaaaayyyyy!

by realdudes1stop on 11/7/10The Ritz Ybor - Ybor City

My initial criticism when it comes to hip hop concerts is how long the main act takes to come out. The event started at 8, and Wiz came out at 1045-which is fine. A lot of the crowd did not seem to be familiar with Yelawolf (the main opening act), but he definitely performed well and had great stage presence. He got the crowd involved (especially the unfamiliar people) with his sense of humor. Yela performed about 7 songs, but it might have been more. Definitely applaud the effort. So, the main event-the dj built up a good amount of anticipation, to which Khalifa and crew came out with a ton of energy. The set lasted a solid 45-50 minutes. I expected the majority of songs to be off of Kush and OJ, which was the case, but it was spread out well by favorites amongst the Taylors'-cabin fever, this plane, etc. Wiz seemed humbled and thanked the crowd for various times throughout the show for the immense amount of participation, even stating once that "you guys seem to know the words better than me!" He gave a great effort in his performance, and the ticket price was worth every cent. In conclusion-Taylor Gang or mouthwash with hydrochloric acid.
