Going to the Pony was exciting enough - but I had never seen Willie Nile so, honestly, didn't know what to expect (outside of the usual Bruce crowd).
The show started off in a slow mode - which I thought was a little unusual. It was just Willie and the piano. Nonetheless, we went with it and just tried to enjoy it. And then, 10 minutes into the show... BOOM! ..... everything in the band kicked in. It was almost a "new" show. Fun, energetic, exciting. It stayed that way until the end. Johnny "Pi", Matt and Alex were just electric, giving Willie a run for his money to keep up and perform!! haha
Sound was over-the-top. Kudos to the sound engineers at the Pony. Not too loud - but loud enough to bump your heart out of chest and then some.
My only complaint - I would have rather heard "One Guitar" somewhere at the end of the set list, rather than the call back/curtain.
