    Willie Always Delivers

by Mohawkman on 6/9/15The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Another great show by Willie and the band. He has a lot of energy for a 67 year old man and he and his band really get the crowd involved. I was disappointed in how disrespectful some people in the crowd were during Willie's quieter piano songs. People were talking loudly and Willie even had to shush them.

Willie Nile - 35 Year Anniversary - The Stone Pony

by njgirlshirl on 6/8/15The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Amazing, Awesome Willie Nile takes the stage with passion! He walks over to the piano and plays several of his songs...to start. Then the stage explodes with Willie, Matt, Johnny and Alex! Best show ever! Never a dull moment with Willie...and full of surprises and songs he seldom plays...He's great, he's wonderful, he's come along way from 35 years ago...I've known him for several years...he has a following...he's down to earth and he's just Willie...Matt Hogan....one of the best guitarist on the East Coast...and Johnny Pisano....jumping Johnny....Alex Alexander, best drummer ever! Wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Willie Nile - Worth every penny!

by BurnsEngine on 6/8/15The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Going to the Pony was exciting enough - but I had never seen Willie Nile so, honestly, didn't know what to expect (outside of the usual Bruce crowd). The show started off in a slow mode - which I thought was a little unusual. It was just Willie and the piano. Nonetheless, we went with it and just tried to enjoy it. And then, 10 minutes into the show... BOOM! ..... everything in the band kicked in. It was almost a "new" show. Fun, energetic, exciting. It stayed that way until the end. Johnny "Pi", Matt and Alex were just electric, giving Willie a run for his money to keep up and perform!! haha Sound was over-the-top. Kudos to the sound engineers at the Pony. Not too loud - but loud enough to bump your heart out of chest and then some. My only complaint - I would have rather heard "One Guitar" somewhere at the end of the set list, rather than the call back/curtain.

Excellent! Willie Nile and his band are first rate showmen. With a nearly 3-hr set, these guys really work for their money, and the audience loved them for that. They give it their all.

    high rocking

by kjsharry on 12/16/14Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage - Rahway

High energy rocking event. The band came ready to rock a very intimate house of about 200. This is probably the best performance by Willy I have seen yet. He always performs to an outstanding level and this was above others.

    Review? I'm Speechless!

by Kevin16 on 12/16/14Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage - Rahway

If you EVER get a chance to see this amazing man in concert you owe it to your soul to run and not walk to the show. Willie Nile is the best kept secret in Rock and Roll and this concert helped to support that claim. It is an honor to be in his audience.

Willie is a Great Live Performer

by Mohawkman on 12/16/14Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage - Rahway

Small intimate 200 seat venue. A little sterile like someplace you'd have a business meeting but a great opportunity to get up-close to the band. Brien McVernon and the Spanktown Saints opened the show with 5 songs. Willie and band came out and did mostly upbeat rockers but did include two piano tunes from his new album. Told an interesting story about the piano in the album and John Lennon. Willie's band was very good. Great guitar and bass players who helped work up the mostly middle-aged crowd. Wille & the band played for at least 90 minutes including one encore.

    Willie Nile!!!

by JBB997 on 12/16/14Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage - Rahway

Willie Nile is the BEST singer/song writer/rocker today. It is amazing to see a 'vintage' rocker whose show consists of NEW (1 to 8 years old) songs that can exceed anyone doing this today. This show was an extremely high energy two hour explosion of great songs. I have taken 12 people in the last 2 years to Willie's shows and they were to a person, knocked out and are now ardent fans and fail to miss a show. Willie Nile the BEST "unknown" talent in America.

    First Class Rock

by Rogoletto on 12/16/14Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage - Rahway

Riveting performance by Willie and his top notch, first class, absolutely on-fire musicians. They totally engaged the audience from the moment they took the stage and gave every ounce of their talent and soul to the performance. Can't wait to hear them again, the sooner the better.

    Willies Homecoming

by jwales on 3/11/14The Tralf - Buffalo

I flew into Buffalo from Minneapolis to attend this show and if I had to walk to attend it would have been worth it. I got to the theater early in order to pick up my club membership card and walked in the back door not knowing where i was to go to pick it up. once inside, there was willie and the band setting up for their soundcheck. johnny Pisano ( Willies bass player) recognized me and during a chat invited me to stick around and listen to the soundcheck. After a few songs I headed out to pick up my card and join the entry line. once inside I got a seat at a front row table .Jefferson Grizzard opened the show and as good as he is this night belonged to willie. From the opening notes to 1st song to the last notes of the 2nd encore , Willie delivered.post show willie and the band gave a meet and greet and didnt leave until the last autograph was signed, the last photo taken or the last hand shaken. Willie is a genuine great guy that has more than paid his dues and is appreciative in his following.his music is pure magic and I cant wait to see him again.

    Willie delivers

by KenD on 9/25/13Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage - Rahway

Willie Nile and the band delivered their usual kick-ass show at Hamilton Stage in Rahway. The show started with the local police bagpipes (different!) and a short set by Bobby Mahoney, who is 18! Willie and then guys then played a smoking hot 2 hour set. Some of the hightlights were the rarely played Bread Alone, a new song dedicated to Levon Helm, much material from the new American Ride album, and of course One Guitar. The showed closed with an encore of A Hard Day's Night and Satisfaction, with promoter Mark Klemow and some fans joining the band on stage. The Hamilton Stage is a beautiful 200-seat jewel of a theater, just a delightful venue.

willie and the band were on fire, as they always are...love the Hamilton stage! the only complaint is that security didn't stop the people who rushed the stage (and ran on the stage). there were people whose views were completely blocked

Again, another awesome show at Joe's Pub!

by njgirlshirl on 11/27/11Joe's Pub - New York

Amazing is the word for Mr. Nile and his band again! What can I say! Nothing bad about Willie Nile and his band at Joe's Pub on the eve of November 26, 2011. Willie put on his best performance ever! Matt and Johnny and Alex helped him along with some great songs. A Thousand Guitars and more. The place was packed with fans and the show was sold out. Something you should know about Joe's Pub; the acoustics are fantastic and the stage is perfect - almost as perfect as The Willie Nile Band. The rendition of "Love Is A Train" brought tears to my eyes. "The Innocent Ones" is another great song; activism is present in his style. "On The Road To Calvary" is a story told by the storyteller. "The Innocent Ones" is out in full swing now. I suggest you buy it and tell your own story about Willie Nile!

Willie Nile Band @ Joe's Pub

by njgirlshirl on 11/8/11Joe's Pub - The Village

Absolutely the greatest show I have ever seen! Willie Nile is a fantastic performer. He is the star of all stars...His performance portrays his love of his music and his fans...He is an activist, he gives a darn about his songs and what he sings about. He is by far the best performer that ever walked the streets of New York and New Jersey.

    Willie Nile Band

by njgirlshirl on 11/8/11Joe's Pub - The Village

Willie Nile is a tremendous musician. When he walks on stage, the crowd goes wild. He is on fire for the whole performance. He is by far the finest artist that ever entered the world of rock. He memorizes the crowd and he is terrific guitarist. He has been around for many years and has made a comeback to the ends of the earth. He is a rocker, he is a activist, he gives a darn about his music and his fans. He is the greatest person that I know and without being predijuce, I would fully recommend you see him live. The Innocent Ones is his newest CD. It is filled with great tunes and if you get a chance, take a moment to listen and you will not be disappointed.
