  • Still the best ever

by EarlC on 9/20/16Westchester County Center - White PlainsRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Willie Colon perform more than 40 years ago and he was outstanding. Now more than 40 years later and Willie is still the very best.

  • Huge Dance Party!

by BrujadeGuayama on 9/20/16Westchester County Center - White PlainsRating: 5 out of 5

It was a Grupo Niche and Willie Colon Concert. From beginning to end, people were dancing EVERYWHERE! In the aisles, balcony, on line getting food/drinks, in the restrooms... it was insanely fun!

  • AMAZING!!!!

by Leny87 on 9/20/16Westchester County Center - White PlainsRating: 5 out of 5

Overall the concert was amazing. I bought tickets for my parents and I to go and enjoy since my dad is a huge fan of Grupo Niche and Willie Colon. My dad is a strict and serious person but that night he acted like a 20 year old again. Love it hope there is more like it to go

  • Live a dream

by BRodriguez44 on 8/31/16House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I always admired Willie Colón music and arrangements. He is a Master in music. I had the opportunity to live a Dream. Great show, great musicians and fantastic crowd.

  • Willie Colon classic

I was really impressed by the concert. It was intimate and loved Willie's sense of humor.

  • Oscar, Willie...India

by NorCenAmer on 4/19/15Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

The quality of the performances was great except for India's. One issue was the change over between banda took way too long. By the time it was Willie's turn he wanted to go to sleep and we were ready to go too! The bands will benefit from a technique in manufacturing called SMED (single minute exchange die) that helps to optimize change overs. Thanks!

  • Why so late

by BKLYNRICAN on 4/16/15Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

My only concern was why did each Artist take so long? Most of us left close to 2:00am, Can these concerts time be arranged better.

  • Oscar D'Leon was sensational!

  • Disappointed

    by Chris721 on 4/14/15Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

Oscar D'Leon's set was fantastic. The man played all kinds of music, sang, danced and really interacted with the crowd. He was pure joy to watch and his set really fit with the "Salsa de Hoy, Ayer, y Siempre" theme. After his set there was an awkward 35 minute intermission to change orchestras, that were playing the same instruments. La India's set was not as good. She did not interact with the crowd, her energy was low, and her voice sounded hoarse. At one point she sat on the ground during her set, told the crowd she couldn't sing requests (unlike Oscar), and seemed to ignore the crowd. By the end of her set, it was 12:30am. And then there was ANOTHER orchestra change (with the same instruments!!!) that took 40 minutes!, it was around 1:15am when Willie Colon came on. We stayed for three songs but by that time, we were tired. Was not expecting a 6 hour concert with more than an hour of orchestra changes. We had to leave before Willie's set ended, which is a shame because I'm a big fan. This concert was too disorganized. The crowd seemed a lot smaller by the time Willie played.

  • Awesome!

by knqueen on 4/14/15Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the whole concert!. The only thing that I would suggest is that next time, have Willie Colon sing more songs even if the ticket is a little bit more expensive. I have been wanting to see him live for a long time and only one hour was too little for what I expected. Oscar D' Leon and La India where perfect and both of them sang for about 1.5 hours each! I enjoyed the entire show!

  • Super LONG!!!!

    by Sisi1230 on 4/14/15Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 1 out of 5

The concert was extremely long. People started leaving after midnight and I don't blame them, the concert ended at 1:45pm with people on the venue since 7pm. The time to prepare between musicians was too long. My husband and I expected a more energized concert but La India and Willie Colon left a lot to be desired. They extended their songs too much, with such a rich repertoire as Willie Colon has, we expected more songs but no, each song could extend to 10 minutes or more. I was falling asleep towards the end of the concert.

  • Oscar d'Leon Killed it, the others not so much

    by BobX314159 on 4/14/15Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 1 out of 5

First up a warning: this concert took 6 hours. We got there at 8pm and it ended at 2am. This would be if it was rocking out the whole time but it was more like 3 hours of actual concert and three hours of setting up. It's basically three completely different concerts with different bands and different set-ups with an hour break between each. It didn't start on time either. Oscar d'Leon came out with tons of energy and played non-stop for 90 minutes. He was awesome. Unfortunately it was all downhill afterwards... India.... sounded sick. Like seriously, I think she was sick. She had some serious throat problem and she could barely croak out her songs. She took a LOT of breaks to talk to the audience which I'm assuming was to hide her issues. Also her sound engineer should be fired: during her act, and her act alone, there were painfully deafening feedback squeals every couple of minutes. I think maybe they cranked the volume too loud to compensate for her terrible singing - we had to go out to the lobby or I'd never be able to listen to her songs again. I hope she's OK because she sounded like she had emphysema. Willy Colon also seemed to be sick (sneezing and coughing). His band at least seemed to be professional and sounded OK. But overall they had zero energy and it looked like they wanted to get out of there ASAP. So they clocked in, did their thing and got their paycheck.

Artists were great but not sure what happened with timetable of performances? Doors opened at 7 performance started shortly after 8 yet it was 1:30am when I left and Willy Colon still hadn't finished performing? Clearly artists were extremely late and you could feel the lag in between performances. Way too long for the evening without explanation as to the delay.....

  • Ismael Miranda stole the show! !!

by Prrn4ever on 12/1/14New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 4 out of 5

The venue was excellent, the staff at NJ PA was great. SALSA music was amazing. I wish Willie Colon would've played more than 3 songs, but Eddie Santiago and Ismael Miranda gave us a great show.

  • Good ... not great

by cbz38a on 11/30/14New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 3 out of 5

The opening performance was very good, it set the pace and mood. Miranda was exceptional... his performance engaged the audience and touched everyone there. Willie Colon's performance was not quite up to expectations. He was good... just not great. His performance lacked the electrical energy and personality of Ismael Miranda. Willie's music and his skill with the Trombone were crowd favorites. He came across as slightly arrogant and a little disconnected from the audience which took away from his performance. For the closing act his performance just did not have the magic expected. I still would have given this a 4th star if it had not been for two extremely loud and vocal patrons who insisted on screaming during the entire performance. They interrupted the performers on several occasions and became a major distraction for us all. One couple sitting to our left simply got up and abruptly left 2/3 of the way through the program because of the inconsiderate individual on their left was extremely loud and disruptive. My wife does not want to attend another performance at NJPAC because of these unruly individuals. A pity... such a fantastic venue ...

  • Good concert

Great performance Eddie Santiago and Ismael Miranda. I was expecting more from Willie Colon.

  • Amazing Concert! Legends

All 3 were amazing! The bands kicked a$$. I would go again in a heartbeat.

  • Willie Colon was late and didn't play long

by familyrosa on 11/25/14New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 2 out of 5

Opening acts Eddie Santiago and Ismael Miranda played longer individually than Willie Colon did. Disappointing indeed!
