About

WILD CHILD IN CONCERT:

Austin-based indie darlings Wild Child have quickly risen the ranks with their spirited, feel-good sound and the charming vocal interplay of dual vocalists Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins. On tour the band treats ticket buyers to a rousing concert experience rooted in first-rate musicianship, combining violin, banjo, ukulele, and horns to fantastic effect. Whether they're getting fans bouncing with the brightly whistled chorus of "Crazy Bird" or slowing things down with the heartfelt "Pillow Talk", Wild Child always brings a vibrant energy to the stage that leaves ticket buyers feeling inspired.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Alexander Beggins and Kelsey Wilson started penning songs together during their time playing in the touring band The Migrant. They sketched tunes on a ukulele in the back of the tour van as the group traversed the country, and by the time they returned to Austin they already had enough material for an album. The band's 2011 debut album Pillow Talk was a blog sensation that attracted the attention of indie legend Ben Kweller, who produced their 2013 sophomore album The Runaround. That album was a huge critical success, earning an 8/10 from PopMatters and landing a track on NPR's Top Ten Songs of 2013 ("Living Tree"). Since then they've performed on the late-night TV circuit and wowed audiences at festivals around the country, drumming up excitement among fans for their upcoming shows.

    Wild Child is AMAZING.

by henwest on 11/10/15Royale Boston - Boston

They were fun, quirky, and INCREDIBLE musicians. Kelsey Wilson (the lead girl singer) just seems like she loves what she does and her happiness and passion is toxic. I would most definitely see them again and buy all of their music!

Wild Child is always a joy to see.

by wellhellpbear on 11/4/15A and R Music Bar - Columbus

The wife and I have seen them several times and they never disappoint. Their songs and stage presence is intimate and self aware without coming off as pretentious. This particular show was the first we had seen them as the headliners, to which I hope to see them headlining their own tours from now on. And to be quite honest I was so-so on their new album as it is a bit over produced and sort of drowns out the musicianship., but, live, tracks like Fools and Break Bones were utterly fantastic. Perhaps they are simply a prime example of that band that must be experienced live. Trust me, for the meager price of the show, one will get every penny's worth and will leave with a smile on their face.

    Wild Child

by MusicRecluse on 3/9/15House of Blues Houston - Houston

The combined efforts of professional musicians made for an unforgettable experience. The band mingled with the crowd before hand painting their signature teal marks on eager fan faces. There were hugs all around. They took the stage with a mini parade and immediately sang a crowd favorite. Most of the songs were regaled word for wailing word by the entire crowd and it was just beautiful. Wild Child played almost the entirety of their first album to the delight of their fans. They followed up with favorites from their second album and sprinkled in some new songs which were very enjoyable. The bands chemistry was electric and their performance was one for the books! The crowd was all ages and comfortable. Their merchandise consisted of their two albums, a beautiful screen printed shirt, and a teal bandana; sizes sold out quickly. All in all a must see show!

Wild child gave the show of our lives!

by Crystalrodriguez1833 on 3/9/15House of Blues Houston - Houston

I've been to a lot of concerts, big and small and wild child is definitely one of the best shows I've ever been too. I was so tired going to this concert I worked two jobs and my feet were killing me but once wild child came out I forgot about everything. They had so much energy and they were so happy I will definitely be coming back for their next show.

    Greatest. Band. Ever.

by TheDjBjAkaBrandtopia on 1/25/15Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Seriously though, it doesn't get better than watching Wild Child - an amazing indie/folksy/all-around-amazing band from Austin, TX - live in concert. They know exactly how to engage the crowd and make sure that they feel like they're part of the main attraction. On a side note, their music is some of the best new music I've heard in years, so kudos to them for that. Bottom line - go see this band if they come anywhere within 150 Miles of you. Don't think, just ct.

Headline was good but didnt come on for 2 hours

by Sidnai on 1/20/15Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Wild Child was really good. A mix of Of monsters and Men, Foster the People, Lana Del Reyl, Mumford and Sons, etc. However, I didn't like the fact the tickets stated 8 on there when the band didn't come on until 10. The opener came on around 9 and wasn't that good. They really should have listed out when the band was going to come on so people weren't waiting around for 2 hours. Not cool. We finally left at 11 even though the band wasn't done but because we had already been there for 3 hours.

Wild Child put on a great performance - music was great, sound was great (you could hear every word they said), and their stage presence was on-point. They engaged with the audience and their chemistry with one another was obvious. It was my first time to the venue and I liked it because I don't think there was a bad "seat" in the house/

    Wild Child lifts your soul

by Kelli2 on 1/20/15Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

This was my third time this year seeing Wild Child and every show just gets better. They sound just like the recordings and the only difference is they add funny, charming side remarks that connect everyone to the song even more so. Their energy was incredible. Every member of the band was so excited to be in NYC and to share new material from their anticipated upcoming album. Wild Child's undeniable talent and spirit makes them a band that anyone can love.

    Fantastic!

by musicfancalabasas on 5/21/14Canyon Club - Agoura Hills

Saw them for the first time, at Canyon Club. Fantastic! I had goose bumps at the start of the show, it sounded really like the Doors were up there on stage. Musicianship was fantastaic, period instruments sounded great, and vocals were a solid 9 out of 10. Will go to see them again! Fantastic job and great concert.

    Wild Child was INCREDIBLE

by BrandiceJoy on 4/13/14The Sinclair - Cambridge

This show was unreal! I love Wild Child and this was my first time seeing them live. They sound exactly the same, maybe even better. They had a really captivating stage presence and you could tell that they were having a great time performing. The venue itself is one of my favorites- small and intimate, great visibility from almost every spot (no seating on the ground level, a few bleacher seats in the mezzanine area). The drinks are pretty cheap, and it's $2 for coat check. If they're coming your way, I would highly recommend purchasing a ticket. I had a really great time!!!
