Whitney Cummings on Tour

Whitney Cummings is a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Best known for creating and starring in the NBC series "Whitney," she also co-created and co-wrote (with Michael Patrick King) the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series "2 Broke Girls."

In November of this year, Whitney launched her own podcast titled "Good For You." Whitney has a lot of questions for a lot of different kinds of people. She also has opinions. And a robot. "Good For You" is self-produced by Whitney alongside Made By Super and records in Los Angeles. New episodes are released on Wednesdays.

Whitney debuted her 4th stand up special, "Can I Touch It?" on Netflix on July 30th. The special includes Whitney's signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics is more relevant than ever. Filmed at the Sidney Harmon Hall in her hometown, Washington, DC. The special touches Whitney's take on everything including her signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics and why we should give sex robots a chance.

Up next, Whitney will star and executive produce a new half-hour comedy for Amazon, "Good People" which she co-created alongside Lee Daniels. The show revolves around three generations of women working in the ombudsman's office of a college that navigates the current cultural climate, the concept of feminism across different generations, and the struggle to reconcile socially constructed ideas with current ethical views regarding complex issues such as sec, race, class and gender.

In October 2017, Whitney debuted her novel "I'm Fine...And Other Lies," which details her brutal anxiety and codependency disorder, written with her trademark entertaining wit, humor, and honesty. That same year, Whitney made her directorial debut with the feature adaptation of Louann Brizendine's best-seller, "The Female Brain". In addition to co-writing and directing, she stars alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein, and Blake Griffin. "The Female Brain" comically details the inner workings and complex power of brain chemistry among couples at different stages of their relationships. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was distributed by IFC.

On the big screen, Whitney was last seen in "Unforgettable" for Warner Bros. Past feature film credits include "The Wedding Ringer," "Made of Honor," and "The Ridiculous Six." Whitney has appeared in such series as "Undateable," "Workaholics," "Maron" and the Comedy Central Roasts, which have solidified her presence in comedy television.

Her first one-hour stand up special, "Money Shot," premiered on Comedy Central in August 2010 and was nominated for an American Comedy Award. Her second one-hour stand-up special, "Whitney Cummings: I Love You," debuted on Comedy Central in June 2014. Her third one-hour stand-up special "I'm Your Girlfriend," aired on HBO in 2016.

Didn't really seem prepared. Couple funny moments, the opener was excellent.

    Funny stuff

by Dana12344 on 6/11/12Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

I think Whitney was tired, or sick. Seemed she had a lot of material in her notebook, but kind of improvised. Didn't seem herself at all, but none the less still enjoyable.

    Whitney Cummings doesn't disappoint!

by Anonymous on 6/11/12The Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Whitney was simply great. Her standup has always been hilarious. The greatest part about the show ties in with the worst part of the show. Everyone, for some reason, feels the need to shout out and heckle comedians. While there were plenty of "hecklers", Whitney was quick witted and threw it right back at them! When whitney came out and saw a 14 and 12 year old in the front row - reaction was priceless. Needless to say it's not a kid friendly event and how they got in for a "Mature Audiences" event WITHOUT parents is unknown. They were removed however within 10 minutes (side note: great parenting for those kids) Great show!

    Worst show ever

by RockstarfromMars on 6/11/12Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

Whitney Cummings was terrible. All she talked about was her stupid show and dicks. Between dick jokes however, she made fun of people sitting in the front row, but that was it. It was like she didn't even care that everyone there paid 40 bucks to see her. I would never see her again.

Largely Forgettable Experience - Save Your Money!

by badtazg on 5/16/12Foxwoods Casino (Fox Theater) - Mashantucket

The opening act was great really funny guy and loved what he was doing. He went on around 8:10 and was off stage by 8:30. Then Whitney came out. Let me preface by saying I enjoy her type of humor and work (Ralphie May is my favorite raunchy comic!) and had a good idea what to expect that night. Or so I thought. After about 2 minutes Whitney realized there were 2 children in the front row, just in front of us. She asked them a bunch of questions - 'how old are you' (12 & 14) 'where are your parents' (in the casino) and 'do you realize your childhood is about a messed up as mine?' She said the kids were dead to her and she was going to do her bit anyway - and then apologized for saying that. She tried to go on but you could tell she didn't know how to be funny when she had to be PG. She still 'went there' a couple times but had to restrain herself and it really messed up her flow. Eventually security remove the two kids. Clearly she was more comfortable when the kids were out of the theater. But she was still disorganized and scatter brained. Eventually she found out parents of Jen Kirkman (another stand-up) were in the row behind us. She had a good 10 minutes of conversation with them. Not really a funny conversation more of a 'oh ya we met you when...' and 'how is Jen doing' kind of things. Her bit was over by 9:35. That's right - the entire show was nearly 90 minutes long. I almost thought she was joking when she was saying goodnight. I paid how much for these tickets? While I enjoyed her being there she was far and away the worst show I've seen in a very long time. If not the worst ever. She kept saying 'oh this is a disaster' and the crowd laughed - perhaps because we all agreed? I've seen many shows at this theater in Foxwoods - none have been as short on time or comedy as this one. I really like Whitney but I wish I hadn't brought 3 others with me to see this show. If you want 'raunchy' humor AND a comic that will make sure you get your moneys worth then I STRONGLY recommend Raphie May next time he is in the area.

    Worst stand-up ever!

by Wick7 on 5/13/12Foxwoods Casino (Fox Theater) - Mashantucket

We went to the show at Foxwoods with a lot of expectation. The opening gig, Julian Mccollough, was good. He went over a wide range of subjects... standouts...his engagement, hollister and chinatown jokes. Little did we realize that he would be the standout... Whitney started off promptly by announcing that she had not done stand-up in a while and it showed. The show went downhill from there, frequent pointless interactions with the audience which looked like feeble ploys to buy more time, juvenile jokes, and it was a relief when the show ended. While I am sure that she is talented (Whitney, the show on NBC is good), the stand-up performance was shoddy. It was a first - the opening gig was way better than the main act!

    not prepared for this

by queen123 on 4/29/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

I had no idea that this was going to be such a raunchy show. We had been to several other comedy shows at the same venue, and they were all really good. This show was promoted as just being funny, not dirty. I think 90% of what she talked about was filthy, disgusting, embarrassing, and not even clever - just shock value. We had great seats at least. But I wish the write up would have mentioned that it was XXX material. Got tired of hearing the F word and every joke was about some sexual perversion. No creativity.

amazing show by one of the future stars

by JethroBodine313 on 4/2/11The Magic Bag - Ferndale

We had tickets to her 7pm show and got there early for the sold out event. We sat in the venue for an hour and 30mins before the show started but as soon as the opening act hit the stage it was on. He warmed up the crowd for 20mins and Whitney came on. She didn't mind talking to the crowd and jokingly posing for pictures on stage before she got into the jokes. She really played to Detroits crowd and had both the women and men laughing at her material. It was my girlfriends first comedy show and Whitney has her hooked now. The tickets were $20 which was goof for someone who made a big name for herself recently this past year or two. EVERYONE go see Whitney if you have the chance

Whitney, come back to Chicago area

by Anonymous on 3/26/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

Best night of comedy I've had in a long time. Her material is hilarious. Her timing, mannerisms, everything about her presentation is supurb. She's a natural, amazing talent. Effortlessly funny. She seems like the kind of person whose career is going to skyrocket and you'll be bragging that you saw her live at some small venue.

    too much f word

by anjust5987 on 3/9/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

While whitney cummings was funny. i enjoyed her opening act much more. I am not an old prude, but I'm sorry there was just too much F this and F this to make this show enjoyable. She did a couple of funny stories and then half the show was spent interacting with the audience, which was not in the least bit funny. I assume she ran out of material to do for the amount of time she was up there, so was just trying to fill space till the show was over. It would be nice if the blue chip would also have a policy about leaving the show once its started. We were seated near the doors, and the constant traffic of people going in and out created such a draft that we thought we were going to freeze to death. The open doors created quite a wind tunnel and the people continually going in and out made it difficult to watch the show.

    funny as hell

by randywest on 3/7/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

This show was hillarious. I would have given it 5 stars, but some of her material was from her tv special. Her opening act was funny as hell, too. Definitely worth it.

    Cummings kept it cumming

by Guts23 on 3/7/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

Truly a natural. Her sense of humor across simple things with an edge and a touch of filth was what I tend to crave. The bonus material she shared for the roast she is taping next week was really funny. Me and my girlfriend laughed through out

    Whitney Cummings awesome

by levich512 on 3/7/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

Whitney cummings was very funny. Her act was tight and she knew how to play the audience. She interacted with the audience more than I've seen other comedians which made me feel we were part of the show yet she didn't let it get out of hand. She brought out some new material for another show she was taping, borrowed a pen from someone in the audience, and used our reactions to base which jokes she would use. She promised we would see them on the show and we were the first to hear them. We were at a casino and we ran into her in the casino lobby after the show. She stopped to talk to us, took pictures, and didn't seem to rush away even tho we knew she was probably in a hurry to get on the road because tha weather was turning nasty. I would definitely recommend seeing her if she comes to your town Her Openning act was also very good. I don't remeber his name. He kinda ran it by quick while the crowd was still settling and didn't catch it.

    Whitney Cummings Had Us Crying

by ScottieK82 on 3/7/11Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City

Both the opening act and Whitney put on an amazing performance. It was refreshing to see even a bigger name star interact with and feed off of the audience. Whitney is by far one of the funniest female comedians touring today and I would highly recommend seeing her live if you ever have the opportunity.
