Overall a great show. Not sure why the place wasn't full.
The evening with the stars portion of the show was outstanding. This is the fourth of these we've attended and they have always been fantastic. A variety of artist on an acoustic stage is simply great. However, this year we got an incredible bonus when Ronnie Dunn came out afterwards really and rocked the house. That is one great rock n roll COWBOY!!!. I'd always wanted to see him perform and even though it was a Monday night in a small venue. He was AWSOME! Great Show.
We truly enjoyed the close and personal feel that the three groups brought to the stage...Brett, Thompson Square and Brian were wonderful. Didn't stay for Ronnie as it was already 9 pm and my husband is still recovering from 8 months in the hospital, hope that went well too!
Such a great cause and overwhelmed at the huge response. Thank you to all the artists and vendors who made the night possible. We will definitely be attending this event annually.
We have been to several of these events and have really enjoyed them all! Really enjoyed the new format where TJ and Ric talked with the Stars before they performed. Brett Eldredge, Thompson Square and Craig Morgan meshed well together! Ronnie Dunn put on an awesome concert, too. Hearing the stars tell stories is just as enjoyable as hearing them sing their songs! Thanks to everyone who puts on this event!!!
The performance was a warm and intimate setting with everyone playing acoustically . I was disappointed that Ronnie Dunn didn't follow the others lead but sang with a loud back up band.
Wow...what a great show!! This was my first Evening with the Stars and it certainly wont be my last! I hope to attend EVERY year!!
I have attended the last few of the WEZL - Evening with the Stars events for MUSC. I get my father a ticket each year and this has become known as Patti/Daddy date night. I can not imagine a better event to share with my father as we have seen MUSC first hand with my brother who received a transplant in 2011. While our story does not have the happy ending we wanted, MUSC got us a few more months of quality time. WEZL should be proud of the efforts they make for MUSC, while it is not the happiest place on earth. What they do is truley magical and a blessing to this community.
I enjoyed the performers as always, they all have a true talent and it is wonderful to listen to them and their guitars in a quiet setting. I also enjoy Ronnie Dunn's music but his electric guitar was quite unexpected, unappreciated, and extremely out of place with the theme of Coldplay. I honestly wanted to walk out on the first strum of that electric guitar but I stuck it out and sang along on some of his old tunes. My ears rang and I needed an advil after it was over but was glad I came specifically for the three performers at the beginning of the show. I don't enjoy loud concerts and if I would have known that was what I was going to see I would not have bought tickets. That is specifically why I attend this event each year - it is a sit down, chit chat with the stars kind of evening and I love that!!
Great concert not a whole more to say. Looking forward to next year.
The stars were magnificent! Love the "chats" and getting to know the artists a little more personally. Fun! Ronnie Dunn . . . what can I say? Just AWESOME! More than I expected; possibly missed the expectation of him sitting/strumming/singing/sharing like the others, but then his performance was as usual perfection! He shared a great deal of his music and that's what I love about him; his music, his voice, his talent . . so, the night was perfect from that perspective. My friends say I demand too much, but the wacko from the third row that thought she personally paid Ronnie Dunn for a photo shoot was too much! Event Staff / Security should have taken her out way before they did. So glad that I wasn't close enough too her to give her a piece of my mind. She showed way too little respect for the artist, the show, the patrons, the benefactor . . . How selfish!
I loved the acoustic part that started off the show. Ronnie Dunn was great but the band was too loud for the PAC. I wish he had been acoustic as well.
All the acts were great, the music was really good and Ronnie Dunn knocked it out of the ball park. Going next year for sure!!
Rodney Atkins, Josh Turner and Darius Rucker sharing one stage in an Acoustic Concert. Each taking turns singing, it was undoubtably one of the best concerts I have ever attended.
This was such an amazing concert. I would definately go again and the cause is another reason I would do it again.
I have been to MANY, MANY concerts in my life, but never one quite like this! Evening with the Stars was the most unique and intimate concert I've ever been to. Each singer was introduced individually and sat down with the DJs for a brief conversation and Q&A session. Each artist was also presented a framed piece of artwork from the kids at MUSC Childrens Hospital! Then, they took turns playing their songs. It was awesome! A lot of the evening was friendly banter between the two South Carolinians, Josh Turner and Darius Rucker...it was so much fun! The last song of the night was an encore performance by Rodney Atkins, singing These Are My People!!! Perfect!!!
The best benefit concert ever!!! Not only was it an unbelievable show, it also raised a lot of money for the MUSC Children's Hospital!!! I just wish I could see it again!!!
This was a very unique and informal presentation. I loved the choice of songs, the conversation between the artists and their stories. The whole event was perfect.
My husband and I could have listened to them till midnight. The show format was absolutely great. We loved it. Without so much background music you could really enjoy their wonderful voices.
This concert was absolutely amazing!! The format was great and allowed the performers to interact with each other informally - the music was wonderful. Our seats were great! Will absolutely check this out again next year.
