Exciting game, team management could do more

    by am1966 on 9/3/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

The game was a close one, and very exciting. We really enjoy going to see the Flash play. I do think the team management could do more to create fun at the games with the following: 1) Actually have a singer for the national anthem (really? you couldn't find some talented high schooler?) 2) Use music clips and other things to get the fans cheering. 3) Use the big screen to get the fans going (ie, a big graphic saying "CORNER!!!" when there is a corner kick and that sort of thing). 4) Have a half-time show. 5) Have volunteers to lead the fans in cheers. 6) Have vendors selling beer, soda, chips in the stands (in soccer you really don't want to leave your seat). 7) Include photos of the players in the program.

What a treat to watch these ladies play

by oldsoccerfan on 9/3/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

I haven't watched a live soccer (football where I come from!) in over 45 years --- and was AMAZED how much I enjoyed this. Stadium nice (good restrooms too!) --- altogether a great night. WNY Flash is a great team .... will be going to see more of their games, for sure!

    Great Match - unfortunate result

by Anonymous on 9/3/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

Both teams played aggressively and fought hard for the win. Portland proved better able to finish.

    Professional Soccer at its best

by DarkLordGanondorf on 9/3/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

Forget that these are women playing, because they go harder than the guys. The inaugural season of the NWSL concluded in one of the most intense games I've ever seen in person. Fans of either team couldn't ask for anything more. (Except maybe for the Flash fans, we did lose after all)

    Great Semi-final game

    by AnQu1930 on 8/29/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

Loved it and definitely going back. Headed back to watch the Championship Game this weekend. I definitely recommend getting field tickets. Its such a great experience. I would not change where I was for a minute. The prices are very reasonable.

    WNY Flash game awesome!

    by Gretch1966 on 8/27/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

Sahlen stadium was built especially for soccer. The staff could not have been kinder! The players stayed late to sign autographs and parking was ample.

Excellent event! Great for the family and a chance to see some famous soccer professionals up close and in person. Our seats were great although I am not sure there is a bad seat in the stadium!

    Great Experience!

by Ashpad on 8/13/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

Even though the game ended in a scoreless tie, I still loved every minute of it! I loved the opportunity to be within inches of the players as they walked to and from the field. The venue was also really good because you had a great view from any seat and the price was totally reasonable.

Sahlen Stadium Not ready for the crowd

    by Rman65 on 8/13/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

Although they were expecting a big crowd, traffic was virtually uncontrolled. The only police presence was at the main gate. Having to park 3-4 blocks away was inconvenient, but not having police to control traffic at three intersections left attendees at risk crossing streets with heavy traffic. Very dangerous situation. With hundreds of people still streaming in, team introductions could have been delayed about 10 minutes to allow all to see. Soccer play was choppy for both teams. A pretty dull game with a couple exceptions. Watching Carly Lloyd was a treat.

    Very exciting game

    by 54Birthday on 7/24/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

Our party consisted of (2) grandparents (me and my husband), one 30 year old daughter and a 6 1/2 year old granddaughter, who is on a soccer team. We all LOVED it. It was a very active game with amazing women athletes.

Great venue and atmosphere, very family friendly. The game was a lot of fun to watch. Being a soccer family, my son was hoping to get his picture with Abby, but we were only able to get one of her walking to/from the field. Security kept her moving but other players were accessible after the game.

    The team members were great!

    by JAWS911 on 6/28/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

The game was fun -- I really like the low-key stadium. My 13-year-old son is a big soccer player and watching Hope Solo and Abby Wambach play in the same game was fabulous. Hope Solo gave my son a "high five" on the way out. He was in heaven. :o)

Awesome! Where else can you watch the top players in the world, USA's Abby Wambach, Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe, Hope Solo, and numerous International players for $20. Not a bad seat in the stadium. Highly recommend going if you are a soccer fan!

NWSL doing it right. Go Western New York Flash!

    by Eiaisb13 on 5/30/13Sahlen's Stadium - Rochester

This is my second NWSL game and first Western New York Flash home game. I have to say it was exactly the kind of experience I was looking for and well worth the five hour drive from lower New York. Rochester is a gorgeous little city full of proud locals and the stadium was easy to find. Parking was a breeze, employees at both the ticket windows and the merchandise tent were really nice and welcoming. You can tell they are very happy about the league. You cant really go wrong with literally ANY seat in the whole stadium, you get a pretty good view of everything that is going on. I sat right underneath the sky-box where Abby Wambach's parents were sitting and you could hear them cheering the whole time. It was a nice little extra treat for sure. The Flash do this wonderful thing where they walk right through fans on both sides of a marked path before making it onto the pitch for the game. They always come right over after each game for autographs and meet their fans. I got to meet Carli Lloyd and of course everyone was absolutely down to earth and sweet. It's really amazing what you get for the price you pay, would wholeheartedly recommend the event to anybody ready to support US soccer. Really appreciate the league making all of this possible.
