UK, started the season of right with a lost to Western, who was not considered previously to be a rival, but probably is now.
Overall, a good experience. I felt the process of getting into the stadium was slow, and the concessions were outrageous. Bring in an empty bottle and fill like you were flying at an airport. Allow an extra 20 minutes to enter the stadium because the security there means a slow entrance. Besides that, I have no complaints and would do it again if given the opportunity.
I took my wife and daughter and the profanity and drunken people made it a horrible experience. We left early and on the way out there was trash every where. I have been to several professional and college games and I have never been more disgusted during and after a game. I will not be back to a college football game again nor will my family. I have a better experience on my couch and not wasting my hard earned money listening to a bunch of drunks cuss all game long. I had a similar experience two weeks before when I went to a Titans preseason football game fortunately these tickets were free and my family wasn't there.
Overall good experience. Stadium was very nice and clean. Parking lots however were a different story. We got there 2 hours before kickoff and it took us forever to get into our lot. Once there, every spot in Lot A was full with tents and chairs taking up spaces. Not a security guy in sight. Traffic Security was terrible before the game. Afterwards, it flowed a lot better.
The club seating was good. I wish my team has done better :-). The traffic control was absolutely awful. It shouldn't take an hour and half to go 1.5 miles into the A lot. There didn't look to be much directing of traffic at all.
LP Field is a wonderful place to watch a game. Its proximity to downtown makes for a wonderful atmosphere. Even though my UK Wildcats lost to WKU, my wife and I had a great time.
I loved it. Would do it again anytime. From the parking, to the food, the elevators to take you to your level, and the comfortable seats. Love it!
Overall the game was a drag. Walked around the entire stadium to find our gate, only to find it closed. Went to gate 1, took forever to get in. Missed the opening kickoff even though we got to the stadium with about 45 minutes to spare. Traffic getting there was terrible, drove around Nashville to avoid most. Concession stands were awful, long lines, out of pizza, not all open. Enjoyed the big screens and the game even though my team lost.
Nashville Sports Council did a horrible job of site management. Two-hour backup from I24 and I65 merger. No assistance in streets and lots. Workers just stood off to the side and provided no help. When we finally got to Lot A, lady said go as far as needed as A is probably full. When we got to seating area, women's restroom was locked and only a few of the concession stands were open (and the Coke Zero dispenser did not work.). They need a lot of work to handle events at LP Field!
Poor management of entry points. Only one gate was open on our side. Major delay of getting into the stadium. People were getting quite frustrated. Should've opened more gates.
Parking even with a pass was terrible, poorly run by LP Field Staff all the way around .
I found it hard to believe that the NFL actually has games in this stadium. There were 46,000 and odd people in a stadium that seats another 20,000, and the infrastructure getting in and out of the stadium was horrible. Traffic was as bad as I've seen, and I've been to games at much larger stadiums. For instance, on the way out, after sitting for 30 minutes and moving perhaps 50 feet, I approached a uniformed traffic cop, who was standing there. I rolled down my windows and shrugged my shoulders at him and he said, "You can keep going that way and it'll take 30 minutes to get out or turn right and it'll take 2." He was right, but if he knew that, why wasn't he actually guiding people instead of standing in the parking lot, looking bemused? Huge lines were present to get in to the stadium as every single person was "wanded" before entry. I will probably never go to another game at LP Field. Unless they host the Super Bowl, it's just flat not worth it.
PARKING WAS A DISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The stadium was way too big for the event. I understand why the game wasn't at Western, but the tickets were extremely over-priced. On top of that, there was ONLY ONE concession stand open on the top level. If you're going to have the same event next season, re-think the prices please.
The better team did not win this game. I'm a UK fan but was disheartened by what I saw. I hope Joker can get us a couple of wins this year!
great seats, good weather, a good win, go Kats....be nice to have a game for UK to have in LP Field ever year
I thought the tv commercials made the night very, very long. Eventhough this was a WKU home game, it was a neutral site....what happened to all the Great Kentuckyt Scenes and players.on the nice scoreboard.
Event was enjoyable although the temperature was hot and muggy.
I was fortunate enough to get mid-field lower level tickets that provided a great view of a shocking bad game. I enjoyed it and wished I had taken more time to look around LP Field.
