Welcome to Night Vale Live Crushes the Podcast

by Bizarro0ST on 3/6/14Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

I love the podcast and expected not less. While I would have thoroughly enjoyed a simple reading of a podcast live, Cecil is an astounding performer. Now I cannot listen to a podcast without thinking it is a less awesome version of what I saw live. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars, and maybe this is a reason why some other people would give it 5 stars is the huge amount of fan service that given. 5 or 6 other voiced characters made an appearance, which, though great (and the actors absolutely deserve their share of time on stage) made the story seem less cohesive than a typical podcast. Overall a wonderful experience.

    Incredible cast of characters.

Took 4 teens to see this podcast. Average age in the theatre was probably 30, I would give the show a "PG" rating. Older kids definitely welcome. The girls had a blast! They loved Cecil, loved the special guests, and loved the atmosphere!

Any one who considers themselves a fan of Night Vale, Lovecraftian Horror or Librarians is doing themselves a disservice by not attending this event. Watching this recording was the best night out I've had in years.

    Amazing

Cecil Baldwin is an amazing live performer--I thought it would be weird actually seeing his face while he spoke, but that was not the case. The live show was both funnier and scarier than the podcasts, and I happened to luck out and be at a show where all of their planned guest voices could make it. It was Amazing.
